Digital camera reviews of JVC HA-FX300B In-Ear Headphones (Black)Digital camera Review: Nothing special, other better values out there Summary: 3 Stars
Overall, these headphones are ordinary performers in an increasingly competitive market (sub $100 in ear headphones). My reference sound is from sennheiser hd497 headphones. I suggest looking into products by philips, v-moda phones, creative (ep-630), skull candy, and sennheiser. If you really want the best sound, go with lightweight, full sized headphones.
Pros
- they look nice
- comes with a good hardshell case
- interesting bimetal technology
- highs freqs are good
Cons
- they supplied silicon tips don't seal well, resulting in poor noise isolation and bass performance
- extremely forward midrange sound
- awkward cord placement in that you have to wrap it around your ears
Digital camera Review: Sounds Good, But.... Summary: 3 Stars
I returned them when I bought a pair of Skull Candy ear buds that sounded just as good at 1/3 of the price.
Digital camera Review: Superb! - Amended... might fail you. Summary: 3 Stars
Below was my initial 5-star review. I have changed this after receiving a pair that needed lateral pressure on the plug to deliver clear stereo and would completely miss vocal tracks (depending on which audio product I was trying to use it on).
I will return and try again - if I receive an excellent replacement, I'll let you know!
Outstanding purchase - I have used this through months of punishing workouts in extreme heat and rugged environments. I was sloppy and left my abused old earbuds on an airplane, unfortunately, but am purchasing these again as I have NEVER owned a pair of ear buds that kept up with me (and this pair still going strong after over a year), staying in my ears without fail and delivering high-quality audio through tough workouts and extreme perspiration. The included foam ear pieces are a quantum improvement over silicone. Well done, JVC - I wish you made more noise about this one. It is awesome!
One suggestion to future owners on a non-deal-breaker design flaw (please note, JVC, if you're listening)- the under-neck slide piece that snugs it against your neck (and essentially keep the earbuds in when you're running) will slide too easily during a sweaty workout. I simply tied a knot under the slide when I found the best position for it and haven't had to think about it since.
Digital camera Review: Surprisingly Good Summary: 5 Stars
I'm no audiophile but I am extremely pleased with this product. Comparing it to the Bose buds - the bass is on par and the clarity might even be better. I use it on the plane and it sounds great, even without noise cancelling. Recommend for the average person who wants a good set of ear buds but doesn't demand the "excellence" of a $100 set.
Digital camera Review: They were great - while they lasted. Summary: 2 Stars
I really enjoyed these headphones for a little over a year - then the right earbud just stopped working. The warranty went out after one year so I have to now purchase new headphones. I am really disappointed - for the price, I would expect these headphones to work longer than, for example, poor quality Apple earbuds. I would like to note that I used them maybe 2 hours per week for about 16 months - that is not a lot of time for them to wear out so quickly.
