Digital camera Review: 2nd time was not the charm

I was super excited to get these headphones and they delivered on sound quality and noise reduction, but only for a few weeks. I live in a college dorm and noise reduction is very important to me. Obviously loud noise is a factor in my life and I expect the noise canceling system to work under many strenuous environments. Unfortunately, the capabilities on this model seem to be very sensitive to loud noises and high pitched sounds, which is apparent when (silly as it sounds) someone sneezes, yells, or a door slams. Such sounds seem to overload the system and cause it to malfunction. The results of this malfunction were permanent and caused the headphones to create very painful high and low pounding/popping sounds when the noise canceling function was on. This made listening to music impossible because I couldn't even hear the music, let alone ignore the noise and discomfort being created by the malfunctioning system. I returned the first pair I bought and exchanged them for a new set, which malfunctioned in exactly the same way as the first. So this time I'm going to try a different brand, and in the future I think I will totally avoid JVC. I recommend you do the same.Digital camera Review: ??????

I am glad I bought these on sale. I would be very unhappy if I bought these at full price. I am still trying to figure out how they are calling these "High Grade Noise Canceling" earphones. They sound good, but I take them to the gym and on airplanes and they do not cancel all the noise.
I had high expectations from this product and I am not happy with them. Can anyone recommend a true pair of Noise Canceling Headphones?

I never wanted to spend $400 for a noise reduction headphones. I think that those Bose are highly priced for no reason. Yes they are good, but how about this JVC HANC250? It is the best for a moderate price, not cheap but under $150. I used it for the first time on my trip to Bangkok, and I was impressed. The noise reduction was almost 100 percent, and I could really listen to and understand what the actors were saying in the movie, something I had not been able to appreciate before with the regular headphones provided by the airline itself.Digital camera Review: AWESOME

I'm a professional audio guy and these headphones rock. They sound great with the noise cancelling off, but turn that bad boy on and hot damn they sound amazing.
