Digital camera Review: Bose shmose!

Well to get right to it, I just had the bose qc15's for a month and returned them. Skeptical, I ordered these nc 250's and wow! Not to take away from the Bose, but these are really almost as good in every respect and better in others. I use them almost exclusively on the plane, but did my trials in various places to get a real feel for them. Smaller, ligher, great sound, and a third of the price! Using these without noise cancelling on is a bonus, although it's much quieter and you'll need to turn the volume up. Niether one of these headphones are audiophile, but isn't that another reason not to spend 350 bucks? When I want the best sound on my mp3, I use klipsh image s4's but when on the plane.... Oh and btw, the noise cancelling on the Bose seems to have a wider range so voices etc. will be reduced but it seems that the sound of the plane is reduced better with the jvc's.
I'd buy these again for sure!

I've always used cheapo head phones all my life. After a long plane trip to Asia I decided to invest in a new headset. I was blown away by the Bose speakers after seeing a demo at an airport. The $300 price tag was too high for me to stomach given that I'm not a big audiophile. ( I only use my computer and iphone to listen to tunes). The positive reviews on the JVC (and the lower price) prompted me to try these out. I really like them. The quality is amazing and the noise reduction really does work. (Remember it's not going to block out all noises).
I had a funny experience with these recently. I opened a faucet while wearing the headphones and for a second I could hear the water and then the canceling feature kicked in and blocked out the noise.
In summary I think these are great value for the money. If you're like me and new to nice headphones I think this is a great starter pair. The price is reasonable and allows you to really see if you can tell the difference. I can see buying more expensive pairs of headphones now that I've experienced what a good pair can do.

I loved these for two months. I work in a noisy cubicle environment and they were great at filtering out the noisy coworker next door. One day, I came in and put them on and they fell off my head. Turns out the place where they attached the headphones to the part that runs across the top of your head is a very flimsy, almost paper-thin piece of plastic, and it was broken. They can't be used, and I called JVC, and they said they don't warranty against "physical abuse". They didn't offer partial credit for a new pair or anything. Just "goodbye".
I would be more kind in my review if I had been rough with these headphones. But they never leave my desk. I didn't drop them on the floor or run over them with my chair. This was normal service. Now I have a $100+ thing that's almost new and I can't use it unless I do something really ugly like duct tape it. I am a nerd programmer and a Southerner, so who knows, that just might happen. If done tastefully, it would coordinate well with the tape on my glasses. At least with these noise-canceling headsets I won't be able to hear my coworkers laughing and calling me funny names.
My next pair won't be JVC.

You can't beat them for the money. Noise canceling works great. My only issue is that on long flights your upper ear starts to get a little sore. They made my flight with a talker a lot more comfortable.
