This metal stand is basically just functional. It is black, so it matches my iPhone, but it doesn't have a finish comparable with the iPhone. Also, it would be nice if the base was heavier. While there is a rubberized pad on the front, not sure why it was omitted on the rear...probably will scratch table surfaces with nice finishes (like a night stand), but okay for a cubicle desk. The charger stand/dock works great just as advertised for iphones with protective covers on. The only negative encountered is the retaining clip will come loose if you are too "rough" seating the phone to the dock. Not a great big deal, just a disappointing pain they should be able to fix.
Plan to buy a second one even with the flaw.

This is the only dock I found that supports the Iphone properly and you can leave your case on. It also looks cool. It is a little pricey because you supply your own cord but I guess you are paying for the convenience of not having to take your case off. That is why I purchased one for me and my wife. Honestly, I feel this product is way overpriced; however this is the only charging stand that I found anywhere that would fit my Iphone with the protective sleeve on it. All of the others are made too small.
This stand is really just a piece of shaped metal.. no plug or anything to attach to your phone, you have to provide your own. And make it fit. Since it does what it's supposed to, I guess it's cool.. Just seems like it's overpriced to me. I had no problems with the shipping or anything.
