Digital camera Review: Buyer Beware-Doesn't work with iPhone 2.1 or 2.2

I had a problem with my mini battery extender, so I contacted support via email. All I got was nonsensical responses, except for one gem of information. THE PRODUCT ONLY WORKS WITH 2.0 FIRMWARE, NOT 2.1 OR 2.2!!!
They also will not answer any further inquiries when I have tried to find out when or if they will resolve this issue. Since I didn't know this, and I had the product more than 30 days, and didn't keep the original packaging, Kensington, and my original vendor, will not accept a return, and also will not replace it (although replacing it will not do any good anyway).
Without 2.1 or 2.2 support, this device is useless. Buyers should be aware of this before they buy, not after. Kensington support refuses to respond any further. They did state, in writing, that it doesn't work with iPhone running 2.1 or 2.2. Unfortunately, it's a total waste of money, and is useless. Customer support is no help whatsoever.

This is something that every iPhone owner should own. It is a lifesaver anytime your iPhone has depleted its charge - an almost daily occurrence for me. If you plan to use your iPhone for music, gaming or videos on a cross-country flight, this will ensure that you arrive with battery power to spare when you arrive. The dock connector on the battery exender and the mini-USB to USB cord supplied with this product means that you can leave your plug-in charger at home and recharge both the iPhone and the Battery Extender from your laptop. I have an Apple Store two blocks from my office and they have nothing like this available (and should)!

I really wasn't impressed with this battery extender. In the package you get the battery extender and a USB male to mini USB male cable. The cable is cool because its one of those cable organizer ones. The device is small and it does work as advertised. It did work with my iPhone 3G and 1st gen iPod nano.
What I didn't like about it was that it did not include a wall adapter or a car adapter. This means you have to charge it using a USB port on your computer (or if you have an extra one wall adapter). I wouldn't have given this a negative review except you cannot sync your iPhone or iPod using this device even if it is connected to your usb port.
Probably not a big deal to most but I was disappointed in buying it.

Ok, i was really excited to get this charger. It looked cool and had good reviews. It does work great, i will give it that. My only oversight that I am wanting others to be aware of, is for the 1st Generation Ipod Touch, the headphone jack is located on the bottom right of the Ipod. When you plug this thing in, it completely covers up the headphone jack. So, if you are watching a cool movie and your battery runs low you have to stop and wait for it to charge. Tip: If you are traveling, keep it attached when you are not using your Ipod so it stays charged until you need it. Or, you can play a game that doesn't require sound, it's just a little harder to hold the Ipod and i keep dropping it in my lap.Digital camera Review: Convenient back up power for IPhone
