Digital camera reviews of KeyOvation VM2-LSB Vertical Mouse - Optical - USB - Silver, Black

Digital camera Review: Good design, but could be better
Summary: 3 Stars

Good product, but could be better.
Pros: Position of hand and wrist are in a more natural position. Feels good.

Cons: Expensive for just a left-handed mouse.
Bulky. Hard to grip some times. Would be nicer if it was smaller.
Has four buttons which I don't need, for me a con.
Shape of mouse itself needs modification for better hand position. Fingers are not in a natural curved position.
Front buttons are very slick. Hard to click sometimes.
Cursor does not move smoothly. Maybe I just need to get use to it.
Emailed vendor and provided constructive criticism, but received reply stating there was nothing wrong with their product.

Digital camera Review: Good hand positioning, but mouse buttons too stiff
Summary: 3 Stars

I've been using this mouse for a few weeks now. I purchased it after receiving several recommendations from peers who've had RSI issues. I'm right-handed, but have been alternating mousing for a few years now, so switching from right-to-left was an easy adjustment for me. Although I've been regularly using my left hand for mousing, I had previously kept the buttons configured for a right hand. That's been the biggest adjustment for me, but to be fair, I felt that I should adjust to the default layout since this mouse is strictly left-handed. So far, so good.

It's comfortable for my 7-3/4" medium-to-large hand. At first, I thought my pinky finger was getting sore from the positioning (i.e. other fingers resting on it), but that was for only a day. With some positioning adjustments, my shoulder, arm, wrist, and hand all seem to be much more comfortable than with traditional mice.

The accuracy is decent. Good DPI as noted in the item description.

I'm glad the thumb button is "dead" by default as I keep clicking it on accident.

There is a difference in precision clicking since the mouse buttons are pressed on the horizontal axis instead of the vertical one, as others have noted. But I'm adapting without even trying -- like most new things, it just takes using it to get better.

The height of the mouse is also something to get used to, if only not to keep knocking it off of my KB/mouse tray. That's just me being clumsy I think.

My only meaningful complaint is that the mouse buttons require more force to click than I expected. They feel almost as stiff as the right-handed Logitech mouse I had been using (MX518) or the MS Wheel Mouse Optical. I was hoping for something like the HP WX414AA Wireless that I had picked up as a temporary replacement for the painful (to me) MX518. After a day of mousing, I would describe my left hand fingers as being "tired". As I've only been using this mouse a few weeks, I suppose that could be residual discomfort from previous mice, but as it's my left hand, there's not nearly as many mouse miles on them as on my right.

Overall, I'm glad I purchased this mouse. It's more comfortable for my hand than "horizontal" mice. But the buttons need to be softer.

Digital camera Review: Great for lefties and righties too!
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm another software developer who spends 8 to 12 hours a day on my computer. After 25 years of working a mouse with my right hand I was ready to give the other side of my body some exercise. I originally purchased the Evoluent 3 Right Hand and really liked the angle of the wrist and the fairly good resolution, smooth movement, three buttons (bottom one likes to act as a back button for my browser) and nice scroller. So when I started looking for a leftie to try out Evoluent was a natural choice. I've been very happy with this mouse, liked it so much I loaned it to my wife (who actually is a leftie) who has suffered a lot of wrist and back pain. She loves it so much that now I have to go and buy another one for myself!!

My only complaint is, where is the VM3-LSB for lefties? And of course, it would be nice to get the resolution up another notch to be competitive with Logitechs and such, but you can only expect so much from a specialty product such as this.

Overall, highly recommended no matter which hand you write with. My back feels much better and my wife can finally give the tendons in her right hand a break :)

Digital camera Review: Great mouse
Summary: 4 Stars

I work as a graphic designer and I've been searching for a decent ergonomic three-button mouse that also fits left-handers. The Evoluent Vertical Mouse seemed like a good option, if a little expensive.

I've been using it for the last several weeks and I have to say that, overall, I'm very pleased with the result. My hand doesn't hurt anymore.

I think the only area of improvement might be making the black grip area a bit more rubberized. It tends to be a little difficult to pick the mouse up without hitting the buttons accidentally. As a solution, I purchased some rubberized electrical tape and placed it along the back bottom edge and this vastly improves the grip factor.

Other than that, the Evoluent Vertical Mouse is a great solution for left-handed computer users.

Digital camera Review: Out of this wolrd, ease of use and comfort are unbelievable!
Summary: 5 Stars

I couldn't believe how light and easy to use this was. I'm a right handed person. The scroll wheel is so smooth, and you can configure all 5 buttons as you please, making for a great surfing experience for example (1 button to close a tab, etc.)
Great to use on your laps, desk, etc. Really thanked for.
