Digital camera Review: A great Serial Adapter Cable

This Serial Adapter Cable is versitle and very use full if you need to connect any serial devices to a USB port.
I use a Freestyle Blood meter as i am a Diabetic and must check my sugar count several times a day now i no longer have to waste time writing down each test i just hook my serial cable to the Keyspan Adapter and upload it to my computer.and its not only for my metter i only have 1 Serial port and my Monitor is hooked to it
But my printer is also a Serial hook up as are a few other items i use and the KeySpan Adapter works on them all.

Digital camera Review: A little hard to install under Windows 7, but woks well

I think the title says what needs to be said, however, this product was recommended by a vendor of astronomical equipment. The only requirement for the RS232 connector was that it work consistently and not be balky. This product meets that criteria, and has for many users of the other product. The only problem that I had was in the installation. I installed it on Windows 7. I also installed it on Windows XP. During the install under XP, I had no problems whatsoever, however, My first Windows 7 installed failed. The reason for this had more to do with Windows 7 quirkiness when installing certain kinds of software, more than it had to do with the Keyspan itself, but I am not sure of this. In the end, I went to the Keyspan website and downloaded the device drivers. That seemed to work better, and finally got my Keyspan installed. To be absolutely fair here, I have had install problems with Windows 7.

I work with Cisco and other network gear on a daily basis in my role as Help Desk Editor at Network World. Although I primarily use this with my MacBook Pro (use either CoolTerm or ZOC/Pro for a terminal program) for gear config/administration, it does work good with Windows. It correctly implements the serial handshaking so you wont have problems with dropped characters or intermittent lockups in communications. This stays in my bag with the MB Pro at all times. the Glucometer cable to connecct to the computer is a serial lead and the manufacturer suggested the Keyspan High Speed USB Adaptor as being the only one the they found worked well for the correct transfer of data. I have used it with no problem downloading data from the meter and to the computer. I use a Freestyle glucometer.Digital camera Review: Adapter rocks!

I used this adapter with a serial Blood Glucose meter. My computer only had USB ports. The software that came with it installed without a hitch and I have VISTA Ultimate on my PC. The software that came with the blood glucose meter was able to connect with the serial adapter and then with the USB port to access the data in the meter. It all went without any difficulties. I would really recommend this product!
