Digital camera Review: Good for small Intel Macbooks, maybe small Mac Powerbooks

I'm not thrilled with this cooling stand but I am satisfied that it does what I bought it to do: keep my 13" Macbook cool. The Apple Macbooks all suffer from extensive heat along the rear 1/3 surface area of the laptop. 2/3's of the way through my 3 year warranty, my Macbook case warped lifting the keyboard area off the bottom case half enough to reveal a bare power connector. Yikes! The Apple service center replaced the case & keyboard under warranty and also replaced the hard drive claiming the hard drive was drawing too much current.
Well now that that is fixed my dilemma was to find a cooling base. Since the Kinamax USB Cooling pad's fans are toward the back of the stand, that was what I needed. I've used it now a few days and the stand does indeed keep the laptop heat zone much much cooler and I think as long as the cooling base is running the laptop will last longer.
I am giving this item 4 stars out of fairness to its functionality. It works. Here are the caveats: my 13" Macbook is the smallest of the Apple laptops and it swallows up the Kinnamax Cooling stand. What I have to do is align the rear of the Macbook to the rear of the Kinnamax unit so that about an inch of the Macbook sticks out towards me. As long as the plastic pads keep the Macbook from slipping I will be okay but I invision a time when I will have to make a homebrew modication to keep the laptop from slipping.
If excessive heat towards the rear of your laptop base is the problem, this item should work. Good luck!
