I bought two of these last month. I really enjoyed using it, especially as a Vista Boost drive. The other day, I shut down my system as usual, and when I booted the next day and plugged in the KingMax, it showed up as a 0 byte drive. I tried it on two other systems with the same result. I have emailed the vendor and requested a replacement, but I know I'll never trust the drive to contain the only copy of whatever I store on it.Digital camera Review: Died the third time I used it

I bought a 1GB for my friend a few years ago and was always jealous I didn't have one myself. This year someone got me the 8GB for christmas. I used it to transfer about 500MB and when I plugged it into my computer the second time it mounted, loaded for 1/2 a second, disappeared (with an error message) and won't show up again on any machine I've tried- mac or windows. Ridiculous. I am so disappointed as I was really excited to get this.
Don't ignore the negative reviews- this thing is garbage. And very unfortunate, because if it worked, it'd be the slickest flash drive around.....

Alright, I'm writing this after mine broke, but I've had it for about 2 years and I broke it because I left it in my laptop which I stuffed in my bag.
I don't have the same experience as others who have found it less than durable. Mine has traveled in my wallet with me at least 100,000 air miles in 2008 alone and used in offices around the world.
Everyone I have shared it with were amazed by the size/capacity and yes, while it can be inserted both ways, I found that the contacts should always face up in whatever laptop used and that included people all over Europe and Asia.
I just wish now I can find one even larger than 8GB. I frequently used it to watch movies on long flights and that's where it's just perfect unlike other devices which frankly get in the way.

Great pricing for 8gb flash drive however it is easy to lose. I lost this flash drive while flipping through my wallet. Guess where I kept it. I also attempted to attach this to my phone but the end is very fragile and it snapped. Made it smaller but the end was still broken.
Good price for 8GB but don't lose it.
