Digital camera Review: Kingston CF no longer work in Nikon 900 series

Having purchased one of these cards in mid 2008 for my Nikon 990 I was quite surprised when the two I ordered December 2008 arrived and did not work in my camera. Kingston replaced them on the assumption something had happened to them but the replacements had the same problem. The camera would not see them. To make a very long story short, it was determined that the controller in the current CF cards is no longer compatible with the Nikon 900 series cameras. The camera can write to the CF card but the computer never sees the data. And data added on the computer is not seen by the camera. Kingston no longer has any CF cards using the older controller. I have asked them to remove the information on their website saying these work on that series camera and asked Amazon for a refund since Kingston is unable to give me working CF cards. While my older 2GB CF works just fine, you should avoid any recent vintage Kingston CF cards if you have a Nikon 900 series digital camera - or make sure you can return them if they have the newer controller. It's too bad as they made a good product uselss for cameras still in use.Digital camera Review: Kingston is very reliable

Changed the setting on my Canon digital camera, so I needed a larger CF card. Was using a 128MB. I picked Kingston because I know they are a company I can trust that makes good products. The card has a lifetime warranty on it.
I would recommend this card to anyone looking to relace an old CF card.

I bought two of these card because of the price. I typical buy SanDisk Ultras. But I thought this would be a better deal.
I was wrong
The first card was working find without problems. I have many photos on in. But something happened and when I put in the card reader it now says the disk is corrupt. I was able to finally open the card but many of the images have green, blue and pink bars on them. These were images I had taken weeks ago.
My second disk has one of my best photos now showing a gray bar half way on it. And when I shoot a picture, the image will not transfer to my Mac. It is not the camera, put one of my trusty SanDisks in and it worked fine.
I'm very upset because many of my photos were from a big special event and now they are lost.

My car has several methods to play music.Among them is a CF card Reader with MP3 or WMA capability. I use these cards to burn and play music on my car audio system.
The playback quality is very very good. I have yet to have a problem with burning or playback. I set the media player to burn at the best bit rate (320Kbps). You can expect to get about 15 cd on a card.I use one card per genre (Jazz,Classical,etc). If you don't like changing cards go with a 4 or 8 gb card. I will continue experimenting but for now I highly recommend this card.

I bought this at the same time as my Canon Rebel XT. It's a great card at an amazing price. It stores the pictures quickly, keeping up well with me as I photograph our two small children. Thanks, Kingston, for a great product.
