Digital camera reviews of Kingston DataTraveler 150 - 32 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive DT150/32GB (Orange/Black)Digital camera Review: Flash Drive Summary: 1 Stars
Great for backup. Don't need bulky external Hard Drives anymore which has to be transported with extreme care. Lost two of those before...
Digital camera Review: Flash drive failure and NO technical support Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased the Data Traveler C10 32GB nine months ago. Last week my computer would not open the flash drive files, except to provide a list of file names. Turns out that every file on the drive (if you attempt to open one) results in a corrupted file message. I contacted Kingston and left a description of my problem on their website and they sent me an email indicating a technician would contact me within 48 hours to help. Well after 72 hours a technician sent me an email and told me he was sorry I was having a problem and that if I provided the drives serial number that Kingston would replace it for free. I sent the technician another email asking if he could help me open the files on the flash drive and that email was simply ignored. Bottom line, don't expect any really support from Kingston, and I strongly recommend not relying too heavily on these drives for storage, as I did.
Digital camera Review: GREAT BUY !! Summary: 5 Stars
An incredibly huge (32 G) amount of storage--I was able to save all of my documents, pictures videos and even some programs on this drive. I would never need to transport this many GB of info , but it is great to have this sitting in my desk, holding all my important "stuff" if my computer ever goes down, or if I just decide to buy a new one and want to transfer all these items. It also allows me to readily share with other folks in my house, by just plugging in and tranferring any files to their machines (pictures, videos etc.)
Digital camera Review: GREAT MUSIC STORAGE Summary: 5 Stars
I was in a quandry for something easy to store my music and pictures on,this drive answered that need.I wanted to have something easy to transfer between my desktop and laptop.I have about 160 CD's and 500 pictures including videos on this drive so far and I still have 23 gigs of space left.I used Goodsync to transfer all my files and I must add,the program works great for this type of use,it synced and copied between my PC and the drive, speed averaged about 4.0 MBS which is king of slow but it gets the job done.It took about 35 minutes to copy a little over 6.5 gigs. The drive works flawless,I'm happy.
Digital camera Review: Good drive Moderate speed Summary: 4 Stars
I have both the 32gb and the 64gb versions of this drive. I got the 32 first and it has been working perfectly for awhile now (months). I have used it on both the mac and pc and I have formatted it FAT32, NTFS, Mac OS extended Journaled, and a combo of Mac OS extended / fat32 at the same time. All worked well. I have found the drive a tad slower than some of the other drives that I own but it works great. I have booted and run XP, OS X, and Linux directly from the drive to do repairs on computers, and it worked fine for that purpose. The 64gb version had a problem. while it works periodically it will mysteriously un-mount itself while in the middle of a file transfer. This can be very annoying. They are sending me a replacement unit. I will see how that goes.
