Digital camera reviews of Kingston DataTraveler I - 8 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive DTI/8GB

Digital camera Review: Best investment ever
Summary: 5 Stars

This was the first time I had ever bought anything online through Amazon.com, and I would say it was the best move I ever made. The Kingston Data Traveler 8 GB USB flash drive was not only in perfect condition when it arrived, but has come in extremely handy for my computer class homework. The best part was that it arrived so quickly at my home address that I didn't have to worry about whether or not I would have to buy one before I started my classes. Thank you very much.

Digital camera Review: Big and slow
Summary: 3 Stars

How would you like your flash memory? (Choose only two):
(Big)
Fast
(Cheap)

What is there to say? This flash drive is both high-capacity and cheap. Unfortunately, transfer speeds seem to suffer as a result. Copying a 1GB file can take up to 7 or 8 minutes.

Digital camera Review: Broke on first day!
Summary: 2 Stars

While the data storage works as expected the plastic piece broke when I placed on my key ring. Very cheap plastic.

Digital camera Review: CAUTION BUYER BEWARE
Summary: 1 Stars

I tried this drive on several computers NONE of which recognized it. The Kingston website offers several solutions, which is reason enough NOT to buy it. It is such a simple device why couldn't it just plug and play like my other thumb drives. I wish someone would have warned me away from wasting my money. These DO NOT WORK by just plugging them in.

Digital camera Review: Can't beat this for the price
Summary: 5 Stars

I've used this 8GB flash drive dozens of times in the very short time I've had it. It's held up perfectly.

On my windows xp system it goes a little slower than some flash drives I've used, but the lack of U3 more than makes up for it.

On my windows vista system it goes like lightning. I can dump a full 8GB on it in just a few minutes. I could have never done that with my old flash drive.

On that note, I had no problems switching back and forth between xp and vista. Simply plug it in and fill it up, then unload it on whatever other system you want.

Considering how cheap it is, I don't think you can find a better deal.
