Digital camera reviews of Kingston Elite Pro 4 GB 133x CompactFlash Memory Card CF/4GB-S2Digital camera Review: Great Card for the Money Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this card because it is one of the best buys in a 4GB CF card and because I have had good experiences with Kingston memory products. This card did not disappoint me. I stuck it into my Olympus E510 which recognized it and wrote files to it with no problem.
There have been several comments that the card is slow. I have no other cards for comparison, but here are some figures to consider. I timed the reading and writing of files to my computer, a Toshiba A215 laptop, from 2 different USB 2.0 CF card readers. The times from both card readers were identical. I was able to write 229 mb of 21 camera raw files from the card to my computer in 20 seconds. Writing to the card was slower; it took 30 seconds to write 139 mb of 13 camera raw files from the computer to the card. Writing to the computer took about 1 sec per file whereas writing to the card took 2.3 seconds per file. These times will vary depending on the camera and the size of the file being written, the raw files I was writing were 10 - 11 mb. Nevertheless, for the average user who is not constantly shooting in the burst mode this card should be fast enough. For the money, I don't think you can get a better CF card.
Digital camera Review: Great Deal! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my mom and she is a professional photographer. She loved the new memory card. Very good deal too.
Digital camera Review: Great Product with a Great Price Summary: 4 Stars
I am an amateur photographer and I purchased 6 of these cards for my Canon 30d. These have worked great and I would recommend them to anyone needing a dependable card. My biggest concern when I bought the card was the reviews about the speed. I often shoot wildlife photos in burst and found that I was very happy with the speed of this card.
One review I read indicated that formating the card in the camera improved the speed on these cards. I can prove this to be true, however I do format them on my camera after each use.
Digital camera Review: Great bang for the buck! Summary: 5 Stars
Bought this as an add-on to my order to get my free super-saver shipping. I already had a 2GB Sandisk Ultra III. I tested it against the Kingston Elite with similar results. The Kingston had slightly lower write speeds and slightly higher read speeds. I am a casual photographer using an Olympus E-510 DSLR and this card meets all my needs while staying within my budget. It may not be the fastest card on the market, but for the average user it should do the trick.
Digital camera Review: Great card for the price Summary: 5 Stars
I have 3 of these cards for use in a 40D. They've been great, and at the price I was able to get more of them!
Good value for money, and I like the 4 GB size to spread out storage during a shoot. That way if one card fails for some reason, I don't lose 8 or 16 GB of pictures at once!
