Digital camera Review: I am Very Happy with this Printer

I am very happy with this printer. It fills over 90% of my needs and wants. What are my needs? To print B&W and some color documents with duplex mode. Over 95% of my color needs are charts, annotations in color, and color texts, rarely need photo printing. I was getting tired of printing various files every other page, take my printings out, flip, turn and put back in the printer and rerun the print job with opposite every other page. Just select two sided printed, and forget it. I have not gotten into producing photos yet, so I cannot comment on it. All I know is that Kodak states using their paper improves on color print quality. You should check print samples in store yourself. I also notice the scanning software tools for Mac are lacking compare to the windows side. Luckily, I can run windows concurrently on my Intel Mac. I do not use wireless, just have one desktop, so wireless printing is not an issue for me. From what I read on other sites, it is not compatible with airport express, extreme or time capsule. Kodak claims you can it designed to work with Kodak products and if one wants to print wirelessly, use the Kodak Bluetooth wireless adapter: [...]Other positives: Built in fax, paper feeder, copier, duplex printing (did I say I liked the duplex printing) and low cost of ink cartridges.
Other negatives: No wireless networking (except with Kodak bluetooth adapter), 3-in-1 color cartridge (I like the single color cartridge of Epson & Canon, cost less in long run), bulky, and scanning software not up to par with windows counterpart.
If you needs are similar to mine, you will be very happy with this printer.
UPDATE: I have recently printed photos using the Kodak photo paper. I was pleasantly surprised on the quality of the pictures. They look as if I took them in to develop film. Send hard copy to few relatives and they were happy with results too. Glossy, no running colors. Will use the photo printing more often.

This printer is very easy to install & Very easy to use! I esp. LOVE the low cost of INK replacment! I can actually afford to use this printer! in 28 seconds i have beautiful photo shop quality 4x6 prints! i understand that the ink is pigmented high quality! Very very EASY to use & cheap to use! First off, let me say that after 10 months the 5500 prints exquisite vivid color photos, and documents -- sharp and black. Of course, best of all are the low cost ink cartridges. However, the fly in the ointment has been the faulty printer head, which Kodak replaced in July 2008. Now, at this moment I await UPS delivery of another printer head replacement.
As others have mentioned, Kodak's tech support is difficult -- trying to understand the Indian accent can drain your senses. I've found that by insisting to the first customer service rep that you want to speak to someone who speaks perfect english will get you transfered to a tech located here in the USA.
While discussing my "second" printer head delimma, this individual candidly admitted problems, that the heads have been redesigned and assured me that this new PH will solve my problem. Well, we'll see. I do like the 5500 all-in-one printer as it does everything I need it to do.

I recently bought a Kodak Easyshare 5500 and while this printer looks good out of the box, Kodak's Mac support is abysmal. The printer does not interface with my Mac laptop (OS X Leopard) nor with my Airport wireless network. It's pretty much just a heavy paperweight at the moment. Disappointing Kodak.
