Digital camera Review: Not For Everyone

I was very excited about this printer until I learned that it does not work wireless if using the Airport Extreme router base. We have 2 macs and after a call to Kodak support and Apple support, then a quick search on the internet, this printer will not work wireless printing if you use it through Airport Extreme. A disappointment since we experienced a very easy install process and printing when connected directly from the laptop to the printer. Rarely has this 5500 printer been used in the last year that we have owned it. The minute we went to print text, no black ink and color was very poor. Photos were fine. Tech support told us we needed a new printhead which they are sending out. Hopefully Kodak has resolved this problem with the newer models. We will wait to see if they also send us complimentary ink cartridges since we used a couple of blacks trying to resolve the problem.Digital camera Review: Printhead was a problem

I wrote a review on the 5500 in the 5300 section. Our printhead was defective after less than a year of use (apparently a common problem). The printer was not printing black, and not registering ink cartrige levels correctly. Kodak was good about sending out a new printhead (you can't find them in stores), as well as sending us new ink cartriges. It fixed the problems. I bought this printer hoping to be able to use it as an office printer and scanner, scan old photos. It does an ok job of scanning photos but is horrible at printing photos and other documents. No matter what I do new ink, cleaning the print heads or calibration I get nothing smudged blank half printed documents. As an office scanner it does ok if you manually place the pages on the glass. When I use the auto feeder the scanned documents are not clear and crisp and sometimes barely readable. I have barely printed 40 pages or pictures and gone through 3 color cartridges and 2 black cartridges. I am utterly disappointed and feel completely ripped off by Kodak.Digital camera Review: This Printer is garbage!

This is the worst printer I have ever owned! It is s-l-o-w and is constantly going off line. I have to reboot puter to get it to work right (never had problems with my cannon).
Too many complaints to list.....I'll just leave it at DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!
