Digital camera reviews of Kodak EasyShare M863 8.2MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom (Red)

Digital camera Review: waste of money!
Summary: 1 Stars

The average review for this camera should be NO stars!!! Not only did we have the same problem that everyone else has (it works for about a week, then the lens stops staying open), but there are MANY reviews here that say how bad this camera is, yet it show as "4 stars". You have better odds of winning in Vegas than having this camera work for you. Don't risk it!

Digital camera Review: don't bother
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this camera and it only worked for a week or so. Then the camera started not powering up (that is, the lens opened then closed right away. I tried a new battery which didn't work, and I put it aside. Big mistake. Now I don't know if it's under warranty, and I barely got any use out of it. I wouldn't recommend this camera if there are going to be issues right away. There are much better comparably priced cameras.

Digital camera Review: Happy kodak man
Summary: 5 Stars

The kodak m863 is a great camera and i could not be happier with the camera and the prompt service i got with my order. Thanks

Digital camera Review: Great Camera--as long as it is working!
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought my M863 in July 2008, and loved it. After 11 months, mine started acting up. It was turning on, the lens coming out, but then closing and powering off. I could go into review mode and look at the pictures on the camera though. After going through the online troubleshooting, was told to send the camera in to United Camera. After more than 3 weeks and not hearing anything, I contacted them. The response was that there is corrosion in the camera and that the corrosion voids the warranty. Everything that I read said that dropping or exposing the camera to liquid voids the warranty (which did not happen), and the battery was a Kodak internal rechargeable battery. If corrosion was from the Kodak battery, then this should be covered by Kodak's warranty. I contacted Kodak about how unhappy I was with this and that I know that the camera could not have had corrosion. They told me that they stand by United Camera's claim. After being a faithful Kodak Digital camera customer for more than 9 years, I just bought an Olympus yesterday. So unhappy with the poor customer service I received from Kodak and the shotty claim that United Camera gave me.

Digital camera Review: it was defective
Summary: 1 Stars

The camera took pictures just fine, but it refused to retract the lense when turned off. I sent it back to Amazon for a refund.
