Digital camera reviews of Kodak EasyShare P820 8-Inch Digital Picture FrameDigital camera Review: Good Mid-Intro level Digital Frame Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this frame for my Mom. She has a bunch of pictures she has taken, and no real way to display them except on the computer.
The Frame is not overly complicated for her, yet has plenty of fetures. It has a nice picture, and its firmware is upgradeable by downloading it from Kodak onto a memory stick and putting it in.
The touch frame is nice, though don't expect something like an iPhone, although it works well. I found it easiest to touch the small ridge around the frame.
The other option she liked was the fact she can plug a thumb drive into it and just use that. She got a 3-pack from a local store and has sorted them into different themes. One might have just pets, the other vacations, one of friends and family.
If you are looking for a good mid-level first digital frame I would pick up this one. My mom is happy with it, and I'm thinking about getting myself one.
Digital camera Review: Great Digital Frame Summary: 5 Stars
Bought this for my wife, she has it on her desk at work and loves it. She says everyone comments on how nice it is as it goes through her slideshow.
Digital camera Review: Great Product Summary: 5 Stars
Easy to use. Love it. One note, the easiest way to get images to the frame is a memory stick. I would just purchase one with the frame if you do't already have one.
Digital camera Review: I like this unit Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this for my folks but they had already purchased one themselves. We opted to keep and use this one. It's a nice design. I prefer to do my own photo editing so I chose to load my pictures onto a 2GB SDHC card myself instead of installing the packaged software and linking the unit to my computer. It took me seconds to load a couple of hundred pictures to the card via my usb card reader. The unit menu is pretty straight forward and easy to navigate.
Pros
Just load the memory card and you're pretty much up and running.
Programmable on-off timer (also see cons)
Easy to use touch frame navigation menu (smart idea)
Two matting choices included
Adjustable brightness settings.
Vivid color display
Cons
A on-board battery would be nice to maintain clock memory
Only two choices for playback of pictures. By file name or by date of the file.
The playback options limitation really is the only real negative here for me. Anyone who has a lot of pictures on their computer or disc is unlikely to have them all named in a manor that would benefit using this feature. A few more options would be nice. Like random for instance.
Overall its a good unit.
Digital camera Review: Kodak EasyShare Summary: 5 Stars
My wife, who is a techy, thoroughly enjoyed this Mothers Day gift. Being a first time Grandmother, she had plenty of pictures to load onto this frame. The clarity of the pictures are excellent. The ease of downloading pictures to it was great. The controls in the matiing, not on the pictures, keep fingerprints off of the screen. Also the price was excellent when I compared to sales at any local stores. You won't be sorry you purchased this product. Plus I got some amazing prices on sim cards on Amazon Marketplace.
