Digital camera Review: This camera blows

Ok, I don't know what is wrong with people who rate this camera so well. It's problems started right upon purchase (which I bought for a trip to europe - seems everyone is going there these days). First of all, it regularly "forgets" the date and time. Ok, no big deal, just reset it every time I turn it on. The real problem(s) that I've had with it are its lack of focus. It NEVER focuses! EVERYTHING is blurry!!! When it is really really really sunny, the picture is in focus, but when light levels dip to normal levels, nothing is in focus, ever. Second, the "optical stabilization" doesn't do anything. I don't have shaky hands and have taken lots of photos in the past, I'm no "expert", but I can hold a camera steady. Turns out, not steady enough for focus to be maintained. Finally, it has been falling apart like nobody's business. The shutter over the lens broke, the screen somehow has lint built up behind the glass, and autofocus doesn't even pretend to try to focus anymore (though it used to try and fail). I just got back from vacation and downloaded my pictures and I have to say that the pics came out really good. There were a few that were dark but I did take them in the late afternoon when the natural lighting has just about gone. I think that for the price of this camera it is an acceptable limit for the camera. I think it is a great camera and would recommend it.Digital camera Review: great product - small package

this tiny device has so many great funcitons packed into it. the photos are great quality of course, but I was pleasantly surprised by the video. you can take any video frame and create a still photo from it - and one would expect those photos to be mediocre, but they're great too! I gave it as a gift to a friend who never reads owner's manuals, and he has all but mastered every function within a week of receiving it.
