Digital camera reviews of Koss KSC75 Portable Stereophone Headphones

Digital camera Review: 2 words: sound leakage
Summary: 2 Stars

i didn't like them because of the sound leakage, and if you put them to a volume without sound leakage the volume is way too low... the sound quality was pretty good though

Digital camera Review: 3.5 stars These are NOT the same as KSC35
Summary: 3 Stars

Just want to make a slight correction to one of the reviews first. I can only comment on the ones I tried. Porta-Pro and KSC35 do have the same drivers, but KSC75 does NOT.

I bought KSC75 recently to upgrade my old KSC35, and the KSC75 sound pretty good for the price, but I would rather go for slightly more expensive KSC35 which sound much better. The KSC75 sound a bit like from inside a bottle, but only *very slightly* so. Base reproduction is also less pronounced than the KSC35's.

KSC75 look nicer and are better designed than KSC35. You can adjust them to fit closer to your ear by bending the metal piece that goes around the ear (KSC35 has it made of plastic that doesn't bend). They fit comfortably with the rubberized cushion around the metal piece. But KSC35 also fit me perfectly well, and I can wear them for hours.

Bottom line - if you want to sacrifice the sound quality but pay a bit less, and get slightly better looking headphones get KSC75. But for the best sound in the price range get KSC35! You can also check out Porta-Pro, they deliver a bit more base than KSC35 (because of their design they push more on the ears) but they have a strange choice of colors and are much less comfortable.

Overall I give:
KSC35: 5 stars
KSC75: 3.5 stars
Porta-Pro: 4 stars

Digital camera Review: 4 months and a blown speaker
Summary: 2 Stars

Purchased these based on the positive reviews. I don't ask a lot of my headphones, but a rattling "speaker" after 4 months seems like a lot less quality than I would expect in this price range, and from this manufacturer. I do not abuse my headphones, don't turn them up very loudly and secure them neatly for transport. I'm going back to the less than $10 variety, which usually last me about 2 years, and this set is going in the trash. These headphones also have a tendency for the speaker to unsnap from the earpiece hook. This worried me at first, but then just became annoying. All around, disappointing.

Digital camera Review: A Fantastic Value
Summary: 4 Stars

As there are so many reviews already posted, I'm going to keep this brief and to the point. These phones boast great sound comparable to phones costing 4x as much, and are mighty comfortable to boot. Only the hardcore audiophiles would find dissatisfaction with the sound these produce. I have not personally experienced any problems with build quality, though it has been reported by other consumers a number of times. The phones seem competently built, but not meant for rough handling. By the reports that have come in, I get the feeling some duds have been sneaking past QA and into costumers hands, so that is something you may want to consider. However, at $15 you aren't exactly taking a big risk if you buy these, and I'd imagine Amazon would let you return them if they were defective.

The Positive:
$100 sound for $15
Comfy!
A much better alternative to those crummy earbuds

The Negative:
You could get stuck with a crummy, fall-aparty pair
Won't stand up to rough handling

Digital camera Review: A controversial favorite
Summary: 3 Stars

The Koss KSC-75 has earned a good reputation as an inexpensive, fairly good-sounding ear clip. It sounds more balanced, and has more punch than is typical for its price range - with pleasing, non-booming bass, and an sound vastly far more agreeable than, say, Apple ear buds.

= Some listeners have had success modifying the KSC-75 to increase definition somewhat, making it a popular ear bud of DIY types. It's cheap enough so hat mistakes aren't a big issue for most. I've found the sound changes small, but clearly an improvement.
= The arms the go over your ears are rather delicate and have a tendency to break. Moreover, these arms provide too much pressure (for my ears, anyway); after an hour, the back of your ears may feel sore.

In other words, the KSC-75 is a well-priced ear clip that surprises you with its decent sound.
