Koss PortaPro Headphones with Case These babies have been manufactured since 1984, a testament to their quality. Mine are only 15 years young and dang it!!, I've got to get new ear pads, also a testament to their quality. Koss makes a number of good products and back them up. Love them for listening to my new iTouch. Much more comfortable and much better sound than the dink earbuds that come with the iPods. So I was looking for a new pair of earphone to replace a worn out pair of Sony's and came across these. I was shocked because I owned a pair of these when I was in Junior High (Late 80's) and I loved them. I had no idea that they were still being produced. So of course I ordered them...arrived in 3 days and I was off!! The sound quality and the rich bass was like I remembered. And they still seem a bit fragile...so don't just toss them around. The top part used to pinch my hair, but I don't have that problem anymore :)
Overall these are some of the best I've owned and still sound great 20+ years later. The retro look may be a turnoff to some, but for others it a kind reminder of days gone by..

After 15 years with my pair, I finally blew out the diaphragms. Bought 2 pair of high-end Bose headphones. Was quite disappointed.
Like others have said, these units have changed little since the mid 80's but have fanastic range, thump and boom. Light weight comfortable and affordable. Highly responsive coils and foldable design.
Highly highly recommended as (in my opinion) being the best portable, non-noise cancelling phones on the market.
Will make your mp3 player, walkman or discman much more robust sounding and gives very little ear fatigue,'cept after 4 or more hours of use.
Getting another pair ASAP!

I really like these headphones! I got them to replace the little buds that were always falling out of my ears during my power walk. They are comfortable and great value for the money. I use them with my mp3 player. Highly recommend! I need clear sound across the entire frequency spectrum or my auditory senses go crazy.
The Koss PortaPro brings living room quality, audiophile sound to a portable headphone. Koss does market certain headphones that are horrendous, however, the PortaPro is legendary.
I put my iPod to maximum volume, even increasing the volume through iTunes settings and the onboard iPod equalizer, and the PortaPro exhibits no discernible distortion whatsoever. For techies, I should note that I record all my music from compact disc using 256kbps VBR with the Apple Audio Codec.
Amazingly, they are warrantied for life, and as good as they sound, you'll want them for at least that long.
