Bought this for an Asus 900A. Fits it perfectly. It is handy to fold down the flap to charge the computer. I feel that it protects the computer some, but the padding is not very thick so the protection is limited.
For the record, not all Asus computers come with a sleeve for their computers. My 900A did not include a sleeve.

Yes Asus includes a sleeve so this is, strictly speaking, not entirely necessary. *however* it fits very well; as well as or better than the included sleeve, and it is thicker. Myself, I prefer the added protection.
As it happened, this was on sale when I ordered my Asus, so I paid roughly half MSRP. I do not consider that much of an outlay to protect a computer.
All that said, if you are happy with the one that came with the Asus, don't bother, but if you want a bit more protection... or some color, this one is nicely made and very reasonably priced. sheesh; this costs less than a silicon skin, offers better protection and doesn't attract crud (like the silicon (if you carry it in a bag or briefcase).
In any event, I am happy with this purchase and do not consider it a waste of money. If $10 can spare my computer from harm it is more than worth it!
