Digital camera reviews of LENMAR SPP-04 Power Port" 4 Outlet DC Power Socket (LENMAR SPP04)

Digital camera Review: Good product, good company
Summary: 5 Stars

It works well and seems well built, no problems. Once, it stopped working, and a quick call to the company got me an explanation of how to change its internal fuse (it's inside the piece that plugs into the car's outlet... something it probably says in the manual, but who reads manuals for these things, much less keeps them around? Anyway, this design is much better than one without a fuse, which would probably just have shorted out and needed to be ditched.

Digital camera Review: Great Car Accessory for Anyone with Lots of Accessories
Summary: 5 Stars

I've got a satellite radio, a GPS system, a power inverter for my laptop, chargers for my phone and bluetooth, and I'm thinking about getting a radar detector, and all of these devices use the one cigarette lighter in my car. Before I bought this device, I had to pick and choose which one I wanted to use, and every now and then I want to be able to light a cigarette. I still can't do 6 things at once, but 4 is much better, and the plug on the far left still works with your car's cigarette lighter. It also comes with a mounting device and a special two-sided sticker so you can put it just about anywhere in your car or truck.

Only thing you need to keep in mind is that just because you have 4 plugs doesn't mean you can go crazy. The fuse is still designed to cut off at around 90 watts or something like that to keep the plug from frying, so don't put 4 power-hungry devices in all at once or you might be out one dashboard for the rest of the road trip.

Digital camera Review: Great for plugging in multiple devices
Summary: 5 Stars

Honestly, I have no idea why every car these days doesn't come with at least 2 or three cigarette adapters right next to each other near the dash. I have a radar detector and Garmin GPS so I need at least two. After looking at all the available options for cigarette lighter adapters, I'm glad I chose this one.

I installed it easily to the side of my center console on the passenger's side with the small screws provided and a small drill bit, being careful not to drill too much deeper than the thickness of the plastic. The last thing you want to do is punch through and tear up some wiring inside. I would advise against installing it on the driver's side, because it's likely to get in the way of your right leg while driving, especially in smaller cars like mine. I would also advice against attempting to use the included adhesive backing, I tried that at first and it failed in the summer heat after about 3 days. I tucked the wire going from the cigarette lighter to the adapter down inside the center console the best I could and it turned out pretty nice. The only issue I had which was my own fault was that I shorted it out and had to replace the inline fuse located in the plastic plug...no big deal, at least I didn't fry it.

Digital camera Review: Great idea, makes for a little clutter
Summary: 4 Stars

I love this idea. I guess newer cars come with several DC power sockets, but mine doesn't so this works for all my gadgets. Just haven't figured out how to "mount" it or get it off the floor where it looks kind of messy. But functionally it's awesome. I love people who come up with these ideas!

Digital camera Review: Great little accessory!
Summary: 5 Stars

Used on a vacation trip to Canada to use vehicle power for laptop with GPS device and an MP3 player. Worked very well.
