This Blue Ray player is mediocre, and the LG Service is terrible. If you just want to put in a disc and play the movie it will work. If you want to see any of the extended features on the disc, good luck. When trying to access any additional Menu items with this player it is hit and miss, mostly miss. I have tried multiple movies, even the ones that were included with the package when I bought this, and have the same problems no matter what I try. Sometimes the main screen will still show and you may see one or two of the sub menu items in the background when trying to switch menus, other times it will just hang and you will have to reboot the player. I have tried to contact LG support, but they didn't answer my email for three weeks, then they told me to unplug the thing and wait 30 seconds like I wouldn't have already tried that during the extended wait. I have submitted a request for an RA to send it in for repair, they sent me an email stating what items needed to be included when I returned it and stated that someone would contact me to give further details. It's been a week so far and no contact. This was my first LG purchase and will be my last, I will stick with Sony. The Sony player I gave away when I bought this one worked flawlessly.Digital camera Review: Dumb about this stuff

I am not good with all things technological. I hooked this puppy up to our 46"Samsung LCD TV in 5 minutes. OK maybe 10. Huge improvement over previous upconverter. Remote works well, easy to use. VERY NICE BLU RAY PLAYER, HOOKED UP WITH HDMI RIGHT OUT OF BOX AND 1080 HD IS GREAT. HOOK IT UP WITH MY BELKIN N+ ROUTER WITH ETHERNET CABLE AND MOVIES ON DEMAND FROM NETFLIX IS TRULY AMAZING. YOU NEED A DSL MODEM WITH ATLEAST 3000 BPS SPEED. SETUP WAS AUTOMATIC AND ALMOST INSTANTANOUS.
BLU RAY DVD'S ARE AWESOME...IF YOU WANT WIRELESS NETFLIX STREAMING..GET THE BD390.

This player is easy to use and produces excellent video and high quality blu-ray sound. It looks great and has all the features I need. The only negative is that the instruction manual could have given a better explanation of the audio options. I had to do a lot of experimenting to maximize the audio capabilities on my surround sound.
