The product was completely unusable after one accidental tripping of the USB cable. The cable accidentally got tripped between the hard drive and my computer; the product was then completely unusable. Perhaps this is Mac dependent. Just purchased a new Belkin router with a USB slot for attaching my Lacie external hard drive to my network. This does not work with certain Lacie Hard Drives- for sure not with this one. Checked Belkin's website support and there are known problems with Lacie hard drive's connecting to their router through USB. Called tech support for Lacie and they said they only support connecting the hard drive directly to the computer. Sure, I should have bought a Lacie drive with an ethernet connection, but didn't think I would run into this problem with USB, and now Im screwed. Tiger woods rocks. It is exactly what I needed. It is easy to use. I did backup on it all my movies, pictures, voice recordings, programs etc. and there is still plenty of space left. I can run from it programs (with backup data) it works like additional computer. I am planning buy one more. For me reliable backing data is very important matter and this removable HD do it perfectly. On top of it it looks very nice.
