Digital camera reviews of LaCie Hard Disk 1 TB FireWire 400/USB 2.0/eSATA External Hard Drive, Design by Neil Poulton 301315UDigital camera Review: Firewire doesn't work Summary: 3 Stars
I expected, perhaps too much, that the firewire connection of this hard drive would work with my PC's operating system--Windows 7, 64 bit. At first it worked, if very slowly. Then it didn't work at all. I downloaded what I thought was a new driver, which killed all my USB connections, including the mouse and keyboard! I was finally able to go back to a restore point before the driver install. The hard drive works fine on its USB 2.0 connection. Since I don't have an external eSATA connection, I haven't (and won't) try that.
The drive works smoothly and efficiently as is. I wish that, before I purchase anything else from LaCie, that they a) upgrade their firewire driver, and b) advertise truthfully what operating system their equipment does and doesn't run on.
Digital camera Review: Frick Frackin Unbelievable Summary: 5 Stars
The only thing bad about this Hard Drive is that it is unable to send be back to November 5th, 1985...
Digital camera Review: Good Bargain Summary: 5 Stars
For a 1TB, the external HDD is amazing. I setup a RAID configuration for two of them last weekend. It is working perfectly and efficiently. One draw back, it does not support Firewire 800.
Digital camera Review: Good Buy Summary: 5 Stars
I had this Lacie External 1tb HD from last 2 monts. Very fast data transfer. I would recommend to have this great size
Digital camera Review: Good drive at good price. Like eSATA capability Summary: 4 Stars
I've been buying Lacie drives for the last few years. I now own two of these 1 terabyte drives. They've worked fine. My computer has one of the new eSATA ports which this drive uses -- which means the speed is much faster than a normal USB 2.0 drive. I need the large hard disks to handle video files.
