Digital camera Review: Almost always works just as intended

You spend a little more but you'll make everyone envious. My friends don't have externals this versatile. People are complaining about it needing two USB ports.. I expected that but some didn't. My only complaint is that it doesn't work 100% of the time. In the 15 or 16 months I've had it there have been a few times (only a few) where I turned on my computer and it wasn't appearing as connected. In those cases you might need to reboot your computer, sometimes reboot it a couple times.
Anyways other than that I've got nothing to complain about, it stores my information nicely. a great companion for my MacBookPro which has a serious lack of HDD space (120 GBs).
Absolutely the external to get.

I was sort of forced into buying this particular drive because I really wanted a decent sized drive with firewire 800 capability and this seemed like the only one available. So far, it's been working great, both as a time machine backup system and a scratch disk for my Adobe programs. I wiped the Lacie default software and disk image, so I can't really review its right-out-of-the-boxness, but I will say it's fast, quiet, cool, compact, sturdy, and it works. The -1 star is only because the only rubber casing it comes with is a horrible orange color and extra skins are like $10 with very limited color options.Digital camera Review: Does what it's supposed to do

The product is exactly as described and for the last month has performed admirably. No issues, no failures. I use the disk as a backup clone of my laptop hard drive, so it doesn't get everyday use, but on the occasions that I have used it -- particularly when my laptop hard drive failed last week -- it has performed as expected. My husband owns two just like it (one is a different size); his favorable experience with the drives is what led me to purchase mine.
