I purchased this lap desk as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. Let me start by saying that the descriptions on amazon were absolutely acurate. My disappointment came from not researching the product thoroughly. My first gripe is that it is called "jumbo'. While it is as big as the measurements report, it's size is adequate at best. My second problem is the bean-bag cushion. This cushion is shallow & maybe one third full of beans or whatever. It is a cushion- barely. Kind of like using a rolled up T-shirt in absence of a pillow. I still give this item three stars. It is everything it claims to be- minus the "jumbo" title. It does what it was made to do. The price was right. I would simply suggest that, if the customer has a decent budget to work with, a little more shopping could land you a nicer lap desk.Digital camera Review: great desk

I'm here today looking for a new laptop desk to replace this one. I have owned this particular laptop desk for about a year. It has split down the middle almost all the way through and the pillow backing has thinned out to the point of being uncomfortable and hard on the knees. It also has a very small lip that runs all the way around the perimeter of the desk that can become irritating to the wrist if you use an external mouse. It doesn't have any cooling ability, that I can detect, for either my lap, or more importantly, my computer.
I suppose it would be good for occasional use, or to clip papers to, but it's not made for daily or extended periods of notebook use.
Like I said, I'm here looking for a lap desk that is basically everything this one isn't. Durable, comfortable, protective (from heat), and stylish. Hope such a thing exists.

when i saw this lapdesk online, i thought it would be a great product because of the large desk, but that was not the problem. the desk is large enough and the bottom pillow is very comfortable, but the actual desk itself is a little soft for me. the top is made of sturdy plastic, but if i press a little harder on the sides of the top, it can bend. i really do like the desk, but i would've preferred a harder top that didnt bend.
