Digital camera Review: A MUST FOR LAP TOPS THAT ALWAYS OVER HEAT
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a 20 inch Hi def HP lap top, that constantly overheated ! Its left on day and night and I watch a lot of live Baseball games.
I would be right in the middle of a great game and the HP would just shut down. Noticing that the bottom was so hot you could cook an egg on it, I would have to wait some time for it to cool down. Now this would happen night after night, especially if watching a ball game. As well, if I forgot and left my lap top on my bed for even 5 mins it would shut right down. I tried many types of coolers with fans, from 80mm dual to triple fans, and all speed RPMS. This however did not solve my problem, it did make it better but not solve it.
The coolers where hard plastic, bulky, and all had USB cables to attach to the lap top in order to get power to run. The cables would break, the fans would get stuck, to many issues. I also tried the bead bag type, these did not work at all, The only thing positive about them was they where slightly more comfortable. By this time, I probably tried 4 or 5 products at a cost of well over $150 just to keep this HP cool..

One day I found this product the Lapinator and sent an E mail to the seller telling him of my issues, he was honest enough to tell me that if my lap top got that hot he was not sure this product would work, however since it had a money back guarantee I decide to try it.
And to my surprise. My lap top has NOT overheated once since I started using it..
When it arrived I looked at it and said how is this going to work. It did not take long to see exactly how it worked. No cables was the first great issue solved. That meant I could just pick up both the Lapinator and lap top with one hand and move it. Just put the rubber bumpers on the bottom " I use 3 for my 20 inch". and set the lap top on it.
Now I use my lap top while sitting in bed most of the time. With the lapinator it sits right on my lap, Its very comfortable like having a light weight table, no big deal at all.
The top vinyl seems to take the heat from the bottom of the laptop and dissipate it threw out the 3M Thinsulate material. The 3 M material is just soft enough to feel very comfortable while sitting on my lap. The 3 bumpers raise the back ever so slight to let the airflow threw the lap top. On HP's the fan is on the bottom and blows it out the back. The bumpers give it just enough space to keep the air flowing.

Now while it is on my lap, I can feel the heat. that only tells me it is doing its job, and sending the heat AWAY from the lap top and keeping it cool. Now with the Lapinator at anytime I can raise the lap top up and feel the heat extremely hot on the surface of the lapinator and noticed it was slightly bubbling up. Yet the bottom of my lap top is extremely cool. This also showed me it was working. If I where to shut down my lap top the vinyl top would return to a flat surface..

I don't know the exact physics involved BUT this product works. As well if one where to use it on there nice wood desk, you would no longer have to worry about ruining you desk top, the heat just dissipates and will not get your desk hot..
I only wish I had found this product before I invested almost as much as 1/3 of the cost of my lap top. Just to keep it cool..

Digital camera Review: A first-rate product worth the investment.

This product is a lot more than just a simple portable lap desk for laptops and notebooks. It features a very easy to clean, insulated surface that avoids overheating on the underside of your computer and any heat transfer to your legs. Three included, self-adhesive rubber bumpers, after being attached on the insulated surface just below where the computer's back or back feet would rest, elevate the computer at an angle that's very comfortable for typing, while helping prevent slips and allowing more air to circulate through the venting fans. A Velcro strap attached to its rear end successfully binds any cables connected to the computer, keeping them still to ward off any unnecessary strain their weight and constant shifting could cause on their sockets.
Weighing-in a mere 15 ounces, this product is virtually weightless, and its 18-inch length, particularly recommended for widescreen display laptops and notebooks, manages to both provide some free room next to the computer for my tiny optical mouse and easily fit inside the back pocket of my carrying case.
As if the above features were not enough to make you immediately buy this product, the Lapinator's bottom surface is made of a soft fabric that's gentle on your clothes and bare skin, and comes with two longitudinal, padded rests that evenly distribute the weight of the computer on your lap. Furthermore, its sturdy, yet somewhat flexible, overall construction maintains a perfect, ergonomic shape even under the weight of the heaviest computer models.
This product's performance with my Toshiba Satellite A70-SP249, which tends to run a bit on the hot side, has been absolutely fabulous: since I started using it, the computer stays cool to the touch even after several hours of continuous use. I love it so much that now I even use it on top of my desk.
If you are like me and use your laptop more than just a few hours a day and are always moving it from place to place, buy this product, and see just how long it takes you to deem it indispensable. It took me less than an hour.
A 13-inch long model is also available for smaller laptops and notebooks.

Digital camera Review: A great product

The Lapinator is a great Laptop Cooler especially for my HP-G70t. It handles this 17" laptop just great and is light as a feather. I am going to order a 15" version also.

Digital camera Review: A lightweight, low profile "temporary" (less than 1.5 hours) solution
Summary: 1 Stars

Having been an owner of a Dell Inspiron 5160 (2GHz Prescott), the term "heat-generator" comes into play. I recently upgraded to a HP Compaq nx9420 17" Dual Core 2 notebook due to the intensive applications I have been more involved in as of late. The Dell could not keep up and the heat generation was getting unbearable. When I first purchased the Dell about three years ago, I came across a new lap pad by Laplogic (L/L). Very costly but it made working with the Dell amazingly comfortable. Since upgrading the notebook, I have done extensive research on any "newer/improved" passive lap pads. I came across the Lapinator Plus! (L/P), reviewed their claims, research and the reviews so...I made the purchase.
Having received the Lapinator Plus! in short order, I immediately put it to work with the new HP. Within 2 hours of non-intensive work with the HP, I began to feel some heat at my thighs and on my fingertips...fingertips? ((105.5 to 102.5 degrees at touch pad and wrist rest (L/P) compared to 90.0 and 92.0 degrees (L/L))
I know I have placed the supplied rubber feet at the appropriate locations and there was nothing running on the notebook in the background to cause the heat I was feeling. I promptly downloaded a couple of temperature monitoring utilities to measure the HPs' temps. The temps never went over 48 degrees in a 2-hour period with the notebook sitting on a table but when placed on the Lapinator, I was still feeling the heat above and below plus the temps were at or above 58 degrees. To my amazement, I lifted the notebook off the rubber feet and placed my hands on the L/P surface, oh my God! I could only hold my hand on the surface ((110.5 (L/P) compared to 93.5 degrees (L/L)) for about two seconds before having to remove it. Plus, the bottom of the notebook was equally as hot ((113.5 (L/P) compared to 93.0 degrees (L/L)). As I let the surface of the pad cool (leaving the notebook raised), I felt the surface of the pad actually had bubbled up the same height as the rubber feet effectively blocking the airflow under the notebook. This was unacceptable even though after about an hour for cool-down it sort of returned to the semi-flat position. At this point I need to take some real measurements (I am a technician by trade and have all the required tools) with my digital probe.
To make a long story short, I measured five critical points (see above) on the L/P, the L/L and the HP and found an average difference of 20 degrees between the two, the L/L being the coolest.
One area to point out to the male gender, the BIGGEST difference was the notebook temps at the front by the left speaker and MediaCard ports, with the L/P: 106.5 vs. L/L at 78.0 degrees!
Well, to that end I have promptly requested Lapinator for an immediate refund and RMA to return this pad after only using it for four days and go back to the tried and true L/L.

Digital camera Review: Absolute Junk - Really NO Stars Warranted
Summary: 1 Stars

I should have paid attention to the reviews that said it buckled immediately with heat from the laptop. Not a half-hour had elapsed and the center was buckled. The things you are supposed to stick on to raise the laptop are cut off a strip of 3M-like small equipment feet. They are far too tiny to do any good and certainly don't resemble what is shown in the ad. In addition, the heat from the laptop came right through the bottom because the top is so thin. The two pads underneath are also uncomfortable on the legs. To return it would have been an additional $7.00 for something that weighs virtually nothing so I didn't bother. I went out and bought a lap desk at Office Depot for $14.95 that is quite comfortable and doesn't transfer heat through to my legs.
