I initially bought this for a family member who was traveling to South Africa this past Summer. After ordering the item, however, I learned that South Africa actually uses several different types of plug-in's and that this would not work. Nonetheless, it has been useful in other places and has proved reliable. The adapters are useless without a voltage reducer and I wish this would have been specified. To drag these all the way to Australia to learn that we needed to purchase a voltage reducer to avoid destroying our items was a disappointment.
