Digital camera reviews of Lenspen LENSK1 Sensorclear Dslr Ccd CleanerDigital camera Review: Great Buy! Summary: 4 Stars
I had been using the Giottos Rocket Air blower to clean my 5d and it got to a point where it just wasn't enough anymore. I was really hesitant to buy the swabs because they were expensive (in my opinion) and I didnt want to have to buy refills.
I thought I would give the LensPen sensor cleaner a shot because it was so inexpensive and it works really well (in combination with my blower). You have to clean your sensor and take some sample shots and see how well you did and then clean some more but, for under $10 im happy.
Digital camera Review: Having This Product On-Hand = Piece of Mind Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a professional photographer and I have been driven half-way crazy any number of times trying to get the sensors clean on my various d-slr's. I have used blowers and Arctic Butterfly's and found my sensor still dirty and so went to the wet-clean method which I just couldn't get to work for me. I wound up with more crap on the lens after the wet-clean. As a result, I once sent one of my camera bodies off to a Nikon authorized service facility because I was unable to get all of the muck off of my sensor that I had gotten on it from trying to clean it (wet). Well, no more. This little tool is the single most useful piece of photographic equipment I own. My sensor goes from having a multitude of spots and specks all over it to HAVING NONE in minutes. A couple passes with this thing, in conjunction with a blower and an Arctic Butterfly (and then shooting blank sky at a high f stop and then checking the image on a large monitor) and I'm ready to roll again. This thing is a small miracle in my opinion, just don't press too hard on that delicate sensor with it. A TRUE LIFESAVER. It essentially equates to piece of mind for me as a photographer.
Digital camera Review: I do own it and it works just fine Summary: 4 Stars
OK, to be fair we also sell these. Most DLSR's have glass over the sensor to protect from damage. I checked with the the manufacturer and they have no issues with customer complaints about camera damage. We've sold quite a few and have had no reports of sensor damage. In my opinion, the American Recorder Cleaning kit does a better job, but it's 3x as much to buy. Also - if you're not sure of what you are doing, and not prepared to accept the risk of doing damage - you should not clean the sensor yourself - no matter what you would use to do it.
Digital camera Review: I love this product! Summary: 5 Stars
I love this product! It is SO easy to use and it packs without taking up any space in my camera bag. I had a ton of dust on my sensor from going to the beach. I blew out my sensor everyday but there were still stubborn dust specs that would not go away. I almost bought the liquid cleaner but I heard that it can be difficult to use and leave streaks on the sensor. I didn't want to ruin my sensor and I didn't have $80.00 to spend on sending my camera in to get it cleaned. This lenspen was just perfect and it was 3 times cheaper...it really works. I used it 1 time and all the dust is gone......should have 49 more uses out of it.
Digital camera Review: Lenspen Sensor Klear Summary: 5 Stars
I gave it a 5 star because I was surprised how well (and easy) it was to clean my Canon 5D sensor.
The instructions are not very good however. I learned from another source that the pen should not be used on both the sensor and lenses - get 2.
Also, tap the "triangle" part (lightly) until small particles of graphite can be seen on your lens cleaning tissue before you attempt cleaning the sensor.
