Digital camera reviews of Lewis N. Clark Blanzza Digital Luggage ScaleDigital camera Review: What a Disappointment Summary: 1 Stars
I had high hopes for this, based on other customers' reviews. When it arrived, it looked like it was well made, however...
The buckle on the strap you use to strap it onto your suitcase stuck and would not open at first. When I did manage to open it and fit it around the handle of a suitcase I needed to weigh, it gave a different weight each time I tested it, with reported weights that were more than 10 pounds apart. No two weights were the same. The real trouble came when I tried to unbuckle it from the suitcase. It took two people, lots of effort, and finally a pair of pliers to get it to unclasp.
I think the product is a good idea and it seems to be sturdily made but the factory apparently lacks quality control and I would prefer to buy it in a store, where I could try it out even before I brought it home.
Digital camera Review: Worked Briefly - Then Big Problem Summary: 1 Stars
We purchased the Blanzza Digital Luggage Scale several weeks in advance of taking a trip. We thought it would be great in taking the guesswork (or using bathroom scale) in determining the weight our our luggage -- and avoiding extra airline fees.
The scale worked accurately and was relatively simple to use. (It is larger than we expected, but that was not a problem). We tested it perhaps 5 times in the weeks prior to leaving.
The night before our trip, we were completely packed and ready for a final weight check. The scale attaches to the luggage handle with a small strap. Similar to a seat belt, you then click the two ends together to secure the scale to the handle before weighing.
Simple enough. It just snaps together. After weighing, you press in on both sides of the plastic on the strap with the thumb and index finger to release it.
It would not release! No matter how many times or how hard we pressed, the strap was stuck to the suitcase. After about 30 minutes of trying, we gave up and realized the only way to detach it was to cut the strap off. Before doing so, we contacted Amazon and explained the problem. They agreed that we had no alternative and said to cut it. Amazon kindly arranged for a replacement or refund. We chose the refund.
This might be an isolated problem, and I may even think about buying it again before a future trip. But I would be considerably less confident in the durability or reliability of this scale after this experience.
Digital camera Review: Works like a charm Summary: 5 Stars
Works as advertised and very convenient to use. It's small and light enough to drop it in the bag not to get hit by overweight luggage fees at airports.
Digital camera Review: Wow... Weight your luggage AND your individual items. Summary: 5 Stars
My wife and I travel often, and weighting the bags is the worse part... undo worry, and it never turns out right in the end anyways.
This item arrived yesterday, and it's not just easy to use, it's actually fun - You can weight anything with it! I have been going around the house, weighing anything that i can find. This is very, very useful for trips:
With this scale, you could weight all of your luggage or even just the individual items that you are taking on your trip, and decide if that is something you want to take or not. Umbrella = 1.0lbs. Jacket = 2.4lbs. Laptop = 3.2lbs.
That is awesome! 5 stars and no less! I never thought a scale could become my new favorite toy, or be so useful. :-)
Digital camera Review: good one Summary: 4 Stars
It serves the purpose and a nice idea to include batteries along with the package! I havent owned it for a while so I am worried how long the plastic will withstand when I use it regularly to weight heavy 50 lb suitcases.
