I have this router for about a month now and I am totally impressed by it. The range is excellent. The router is setup in the top floor of the building and I have my laptop in the ground floor of the building, and I am getting full bars of reception. This router exceeded my expectations.
Digital camera Review: Excellent Wired/Wireless Router Summary: 5 Stars
Installed this router on a home network comprised of Windows XP as well as Windows Vista computers. It works great! In addition to the wireless "N" capabilities, this router also has 4 ports for wired connections. The wireless side is backwards compatible to the "g" and "b" standards as well. I've got a good mix of computers using this router, some are wired, some are wireless "n", some are wireless "g", some are XP and some are Vista -- this router just works seamlessly with all of them.
Digital camera Review: Excellent Wireless N Router Summary: 5 Stars
This linksys N router is wonderful. It was easy to get up and running on the standard linksys firmware, which I later upgraded to DD-WRT [...]. I used the mini generic v24 beta version first, and then upgraded to the non-mini version, and now I have a FULL featured wireless N router.
One thing to note, DD-WRT reports this router as a WRT300N, so keep that in mind when you make your purchase :)
Other than this, the features are great, the price is right, and it's simply a solid router. Combine this with a gigabit switch and you'll have the best, most affordable home network.
Digital camera Review: Finally found a decent router! Summary: 5 Stars
This is my 4th wireless router. My first wireless router was a old NetGear 802.11B only but it worked OK. Then I purchased an SMC 802.11G (I forget the model #), which worked OK except didn't have a great range. I then went back to NetGear, and got an WPNT834 thinking the range would be greatly improved. I limped by with it for a couple of years - the range wasn't that great, it was buggy (VPN support had problems) and it would crash and lock up. Even with the latest firmware it worked poorly. The past few weeks it got really bad, dropping out every 10 minutes (perhaps because we have an additional PC on the wireless network) making it pretty much useless.
The Linksys WRT150N so far has performed flawlessly. It was very easy to set up, has a nice web interface for configuration, and the range and speed is much much better than the NetGear. It works great with my new pre-N laptop, an 802.11G wireless ethernet adapter with a few devices attached, as well as a MacBook, and 2 other PC's, and a Linux server connected to the LAN. I upgraded the firmware for good measure, but even with the shipping firmware it worked perfectly. I've only used it a few days, but so far so good!
Digital camera Review: GOOD CHOICE Summary: 5 Stars
EASY TO SET UP. CUSTOMIZING THE WIRELESS AND SECURITY SETTINGS WAS QUICK.
IN SHORT, A GOOD BUY. NO COMPLAINTS.
