This thing is tiny...but does not skimp on performance.
I was hoping to be able to use this with my Apple Powerbook, but was unable. I believe an earlier version was compatible with MacOS, but this isn't.
Instead, I use it with my desktop PC, which is just fine by me. My one complaint is that while I understand that this is built for laptops, I still think most users could benefit from even a slightly longer cord.
With the popularity of the webcam growing exponentially (due largely to the explosion of post-your-own-video websites) I have been exposed to countless videos made on webcams. By comparison, I am really quite impressed at the clarity produced by the QuickCam Pro.
I love the "avatar" features provided with the software. Being able to turn yourself into a shark/alien/cat or give yourself a mustache/glasses/etc are great ways to delight children and grandchildren when you can't be with them.
This is an impressive device that delivers quality results.

I bought this for my 65+ year old mother so she can keep up with her grandkids. I helped her install it to her laptop. I was so impressed with it I bought one for my office desktop. The video quality of this Qickcam is extremely good with resolution options from email to 4 MB. Picture in relatively low light is what I would consider excellent. Movement of hand in front of camera has some ghosting. My problems relate to the microphone which I could not get to work after configuring in both Logitech Audo Wizard and Windows Audio settings. Audio was available when I used an old microphone (one more than 6 years old.) My other problem was the inability to install the program on my desktop after two tries including uninstalling the partially installed program. It stopped installing at about 90% both times. On my laptop, it installed as it should have. Support is generic in FAQ and Knowledge base and otherwise nonexistant (which is par for almost all companies today.) I would recommend it for inexpensive video quality if you can get it installed.
Dec 24. After using the cam for several months, I have been happy with the quality and I believe most of the sound problems relate to the Skype program. Skyoe refuses to remember settings for this cam, but once reset, it is fine. The quality is better than my contacts who use a variety other cams. Acordingly, I have raised my rating.

This product was so easy to install. And the picture is very clear - so I am told by those who receive it.
Only complaint is that the stand is not substantial enough to be entirely stable without leaning it against something, like the monitor.

Every time I tried to install this device, it crashed my (very new) system. My screen just went grey, and I had to restart. I tried using the software on the enclosed disk as well as downloading the drivers from Logitech's website. Always the same outcome. Too bad.
