This webcam was bought solely on the recommendations found here on Amazon. It turned out to completely fulfill every claim made of it. I Cannot comment on any other product. I'm thoroughly satisfied with its capabilities: clear, virtually noise-free audio, exceptional video clarity, ease of use, versatile means of locating cam itself. Have used it successfully with friends either with WinXP-toWinXP or with WinXP-to-MacOS, using it with AOL AIM-6 as well as Logitech's 'Vid' software. Have been using unit for several months with never a problem. very pleased and highly recommended. Additionally, the cam was received in the usual swift manner for which Amazon is well known.

This webcam is a bargain for the price. It's not too bad to install and pretty much runs itself. We had a little trouble getting the computer to recognize that it was plugged in, but after downloading the update from Logitech, everything has run smoothly. It fits easily onto the top of my flatscreen and is unobtrusive in style...I like that a lot.
We use it to communicate with our grandchildren in Italy and the East Coast, US via Skype. It has excellent quality picture and the ability to track the subject/s to a certain extent. The lighting in my office can be a challenge, but this camera adjusts and gives a quality image regardless of dimness, backlighting, overhead glare, whatever. I believe this is the best quality available at this price. It's comparable to a much more complex and expensive product, without all the hassle.
I did quite a bit of research before settling on this webcam. I'm really please with this choice.

I purchased this web cam because my daughter bought one and liked it. Once installed it was up and running very quickly on my end. My daughter had to tweak her system before she got the audio working but it only took a few minutes and we were talking to each other while viewing each other in our homes, showing recent purchases, remodeled family room, etc. All in all a nice addition to my computer.Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000
