Digital camera reviews of Logitech 720p Webcam Pro 9000

Digital camera Review: Awesome!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

The Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 is simply the best webcam your money can buy. It's easy to install and use. The quality of the video is beyond High Def when the other person you're connected with (e.g., using Skype video) has a comparable higher end computer and the same Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000. When you look at the full screen mode, it's like the other person is right there in the room with you. Bottom line, this product is AWESOME!!!

Digital camera Review: Awesome.
Summary: 5 Stars

Great product. Can't say enough at this point. We've had it running for a bout a week. No problems. It's great.

Digital camera Review: BEST buy for the $
Summary: 5 Stars

Easy to install, good quality. Great buy for the $. Got one for our kids also, and they LOVE it. Installed "skype" and it is easy to use.
Highly recommend it!

Digital camera Review: Bah: Color/Brightness EXCELLENT. Wide Angle HORRIBLE
Summary: 4 Stars

Kind of dissapointed after all the hype at respectable review sites. Prefer my Logitech 5000 in the end.

Color/Brightness EXCELLENT. The performance of this camera in low-light (a.k.a typical household light, day or night) is amazing -and I mean amazing, considering the many digital video cameras and cameras I own.

The Wide Angle is HORRIBLE. Well, if you want to get 5 people into the shot, it's cool. (and they will need to come within 4 feet of the camera to fill the frame! all five!) But for showing just you, just your face and shoulders, this wide angle means you only have two choices: either show tiny head/tiny shoulders and your lap and half your living room (this is at normal distance from your monitor), or show a face distorting, nose-enlarging fish-eye look. (at 6 inches from the camera -what it takes for your head to fill the frame) I like the angle of the Logitech 5000 much more.

(Yes, I know there is a zoom function. It is a digital zoom, and blurs the pic.)

One more gripe: no way to hard-set the output resolution. (1600x1200 or 640x480 or 320x240) Basically, I have no idea which resolution it is sending to the IM / Video apps, and am wondering if it's sending 1600x1200 (native resolution) and slowing the video down... :-(

Digital camera Review: Barely supported on Mac OS X
Summary: 2 Stars

Only outputs a mirror image on Mac OS X.

Apparently on Microsoft machines there is software to give a normal picture. I wish there were a little switch to toggle between normal mode and the bizarre default mirror image mode (as is the case for other small cameras I have used).

Video/audio quality is acceptable except for the bass ackwords picture.

Buyer beware.
