It's easy to install on an Windows XP system. Great Picture CLARITY. Great sound, no need for the 'old headset'.The avatars which are supposed to mimmick your facial movemnts don't work well unless you STAY in the exact space (uncomfortable)for it to recognise you. Overall I'd BUY ANOTHER ONE. I hope it also works in windows 7 which I'm about to install.Was also cheaper online by about 30% to local chain store.Digital camera Review: Just too many problems for that price

I know the rating looks harsh, but I've just spent $240. At that range, the product had better be darn good. This one just isn't.
For one, it's heavy and bulky... and on my laptop, it's actually making the screen go down if it's already tilted backwards... that's a bad start. Then, the angle of view is kinda weird. It's good sideways, but up and down, it seems like it's more tilted up?
The back stand... these things on the logitech webcams have been driving me crazy. At first, you think they'll be helpful and balance the camera out, but in the end, the slightest thing too close to your laptop screen, and they're falling. They're also god hard to store, which means they easily break, and then, you're out $240, because the webcam can't hook on to anything, or balance.
CPU issues... wow this thing sucks the life of my computer!! Everything slows down incredibly when I start chatting. Yeah, I want to chat, but I don't want to stop living and breathing for it!
The mic - ok so the other person can see every pimple on your forehead (angle tilted up), but they can't hear you if you step 1 foot diagonally. So your kids can wave to granny, but they won't be able to say a word she can hear until all she can see is their lips... that's just weird.
Conclusion: not the bang for the buck.

Weighing it's price to performance, the Logitech QuckCam Ultra Vision delivers mediocre images with a right-light technology that doesn't make a difference. I would advice going for a creative labs or a less expensive webcam. An oversized-body and lousy images. The avatars special effects are fun in the beginning but you'll soon be irritated by its quality.Digital camera Review: Lets try again

Well This is the third Logitech camera I have perchased. It is better than the others, but still a long way from perfect. This camera uses a much different lense for one thing. It is almost a wide angle lense and to get the view their other cameras have you need to zoom in a bit. It has its advantages, but overall I do not care for it too much. They do have a much better auto light adjustment, which in their old camera dropped the framrates to 3FPS, but this one does not do this... big plus. One thing though is when the lighting is good, the colors are way too... off I guess. Kind of bright and faded and just... off. The cam does do quite well in low light though. So overall. The avatars and junk like that are nice, but it un-zooms the image and has lots of problems locking on the face in low light. The higher resolution is nice for making video recordings and the image is pretty good, but bit better noise reduction would be nice though.
Pros:

Cons:
-Wide angle lens
-Poor color reproduction in good lighting.
-Poor avatar implimentation
It is a bit heavier and the adjustments are a bit different. The price is higher than I like. I have not seen a better one yet, but this one is far from what I would like to see. Maybe their next generation or some software upgrades might help. For most it would probably do well.

I purchased the Logitech QuickCam for my daughter and myself for Christmas so I could see my Grandson in New England. I live in the Northwest. We found it wasn't as easy as we had anticapated using as we both have had to experiment with the sound and picture transmission. Once set up the pictures are clear and the sound is great. My daughter's husband was able to give me a tour of their house following my grandson with his laptop. The Logitech QuickCam is easy to install and the pictures and sound are clear. I am pleased with the purchase and am amazed we can communicate directly acrossed the country. Great for grandparents everywhere!!
