Digital camera reviews of Logitech ClearChat Comfort/USB Headset H390 (Black)Digital camera Review: Best of Four Summary: 5 Stars
I've now purhased, all from Amazon, a total of 4 headsets, each of a different type, one of which was quite expensive [200$]: a blue tooth model, a folding usb model, a wireless usb model- and the Logitech model featured on this page.
I use a headset exclusively with a computer. Mostly Skype, but also occasional dictation, very occasional entertainment.
The BT: each time I restarted the computer, one needs locate the device again, then go to skype audio and re-assign the bluetooth feature. Not difficult, but an added chore when all one wants to do is make a quick skype phone call.
The folding model: good enough but delicate; of what use is portability if the thing breaks when carried?
The expensive model was wireless [USB]. Worked well enough, allowing one to walk quite a distance with the comfortable headset attached. This is quite liberating. However, the volume, even maxed out, was almost NEVER adequate: one must keep hand pressed to headset for the duration of the call [my hearing is not the same as a teenager's, but is still adequate].
Suffice to say that of all the headsets, and not inconsiderable expense- the Logitech on this page surpassed them all:
sturdy
immediate connection, true plug and play every time
great sound
reliable.
I use this for my base headset and portable model as well: just toss it in the brief. It's a solid build. Dictation: great sound quality. It has an 8' wire, so one can move about at least somewhat.
Soon I am traveling to a remote location, so I am now ordering a second one of these. Will carry two of these Logitech models [one for backup], rather than any of the other types. I rely on Skype for long distance phone calls, and with this USB model, at least I am sure I will have a headset that always works, and works well.
Digital camera Review: Better choices available Summary: 2 Stars
I purchased this headset for use with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. As someone with ALS I must rely on my voice to operate my PC.
I wanted a USB headset for plug-and-play ease but also one that would be comfortable when worn for long periods.
Although plug-and-play worked like a charm that was about the end of my satisfaction. Although this headset has more padding than most others, it's certainly isn't enough to make extended wearing comfortable.
I also found that after adjusting the headband for proper fit it failed to maintain the adjustment and instead gradually loosen over time causing the headset to become loose on my head.
Sound quality of the headset during playback is acceptable. Microphone performance and clarity, however, leave a lot to be desired.
Another issue I had was the product's packaging which consisted of a hard plastic "clamshell" type package. Because I have no use of my hands and arms, I relied on someone else to open the package for me. Had they not completely destroyed the plastic package while attempting to open it, I would have most definitely returned this item to Amazon for a refund. Typically I avoid products in this type of package because of the level of difficulty in opening them. Even before I had ALS and still had full use of my hands I absolutely despised this type of product package. I understand that this type of packaging is inexpensive, shows off the product and prevents tampering and/or pilfering while on retail shelves but it certainly isn't end user friendly.
I have since found an excellent Bluetooth headset (the Andrea Electronics BT-200) which works much better with speech recognition applications (such as Dragon NaturallySpeaking) and was only $45 for the headset and the USB Bluetooth dongle versus $27 for the Logitech headset.
As a whole I've been happy in the past with Logitech products but this headset just fell short.I purchased this headset for use with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. As someone with ALS, I must rely on my voice to operate my PC.

Digital camera Review: Better than most I've had... Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased these headphones a little over a month ago and use them every day. They worked fine right out of the box with no installation... just plug them in a USB port and go.
I have no regrets about purchasing them and am quite please with their clarity, comfort and controls. I use them to edit music and when playing games like Crysis and FarCry 2 and find they work great plus the sounds on the games are directional i.e. if the bad guy makes a noise on the left I hear it in my left ear.
What I would recommend to Logitech for improvements: 1. I would like an on/off switch so when not in use I didn't have to unplug them from the USB port. 2. I would make the microphone arm adjustable in regard to how close to your mouth it is positioned. 3. I would make the fastener on the volume control more user friendly... maybe more like a clothspin versus the plastic slit to slide onto your shirt.
These are minor things, in my opinion, and recommend that for the price you are getting a decent headset.
Digital camera Review: Broke in 5 months Summary: 1 Stars
I was using it very rare, but its broked in 5 months. Quality of sound and Product is good. but didn't last for long time. it is waist of money. Better buy cheap one like for 10$, cheap one will last for longer then logitech.
When i pluged in to my laptop its says unrecognized USB. I tried it with other computers too still same problem. It is very much as trash now.
Bottom like it is waist of money. Bad choice.
Digital camera Review: Broken, as usual Summary: 5 Stars
I won't blame this product specifically but, like all of these plastic headphone/mic combo's, it broke after a couple months but to be honest I was not the most gentle of owners. A piece of advice to potential buyers: look for a higher quality (higher priced) headset. These will break and you will end up buying another pair in 6 months. So buy a good pair and have them last you a good long time.
