Digital camera reviews of Logitech Cordless Desktop LX 300Digital camera Review: Good one - but crazy Function keys and Isrt,Home buttons Summary: 4 Stars
Good Part:
The Keyboard is good and real smooth. Mouse is EXCELLENT.
Not so Good Part:
The Function Keys (F1, F2 etc.,) & 'Esc' came in a different shape and are not comfortable to use. These keys are like buttons.
Also the "Insert" key is kept away from 'Home', 'End' and 'Delete' keys.).
If you use any normal keyboard, you will go mad with these.
Digital camera Review: Good product Summary: 5 Stars
This was everything that I was looking for in a wireless desktop. Due to an injury I needed a different setup. This wireless desktop functioned from the moment that I plugged it in, and I found it easy to set up and customize. The media and program keys are easy to program and use (many are preset for Microsoft default products like WMP and Word).
I only had two small issues with this product. The first is that without a power button on the mouse, it tends to use a lot of power when idle. Battery life is a lot shorter than I would have expected (but only for the mouse, the keyboard is still on it's first set of batteries).
The second is that the mode key on the keyboard is a toggle switch, which I didn't expect, and didn't find mentioned anywhere in the literature. I expected it to work much like a normal keyboard key, and had some problems using it at first. Now I view this as a feature, but I wish it had been clearly stated somewhere up front.
Still, the entire thing is comfortable, functional, and even stylish. For a peripheral desktop, this is a good choice, and I'm very happy with it.
Digital camera Review: Good product at great price Summary: 5 Stars
Some observations -
Insert, delete, home end, page up and page down are not at standard location and size as seen in most keyboard (atleast in the ones I have used). So if one is not used to Logitech keyboards, this can take some time getting comfortable with.
Characters are printed in the center of the keys, another thing I have not seen in many keyboards.
Works great even when the receiver is at a distance and does not need to be in line of sight.
Did not find any reason good enough to not to recomend this product.
Digital camera Review: Good product if you don't mind the nonstandard keyboard layout Summary: 3 Stars
While others have complained about the usable range, I've had no problems using the mouse and keyboard 10+ feet from the receiver. Perhaps it helps that there are some twelve inches and three, one-inch thick wooden desk surfaces between my receiver and the computer case. At any rate, reception was perfect from the start and hasn't been a problem.
The only real complaint I have is with the keyboard layout. The Home, End, Delete, PgUp, and PgDn keys have been rearranged, and the 'Windows' and Ctrl keys to the right of the spacebar have been eliminated and moved leftward, respectively. Also, the Insert key has been moved upward to share the Scroll Lock key.
The reason for these changes is to free up some space for three "hot keys" on the far-left side. By default, these are programmed to invoke the browser's "Search," "Forward" and "Back" functions. (I had to re-program the latter two for Firefox.)
If you're a heavy keyboard user like me, be advised that this layout can be bothersome. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to it. In my opinion, Logitech should have put the Forward and Back buttons on the mouse and gone with the standard keyboard layout.
Still, if you can find the right place for the receiver, and can live with the nonstandard keyboard layout, this setup can be a real bargain (recently under $10 after rebates).
Digital camera Review: Great Gift Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this as a gift for my father and no complaints so far. I think it's a great deal for the money. Also, I chose the free shipping and it still arrived withing two days.
