Digital camera reviews of Logitech Cordless Desktop S 530 Laser for Mac ( 967664-0403 )Digital camera Review: DOA No Reply from Seller Summary: 1 Stars
I unpackaged and connected this keyboard according to the instructions. It performed as if a key was stuck. After opening my browser, I noticed the letter B repeating in the search box. I had to remove the batteries to make it stop. After a little experimentation, I find that the B key sticks then doesn't work at all. Seller will not respond to my request for a replacement or refund.
Digital camera Review: Decent hardware, laughable software, sad technical support Summary: 2 Stars
This desktop set is pretty nice looking but thats about it. The layout is awkward to make room for the media keys on either side. The printing on the keys themselves looks pretty bad-too bold and too small. Some keys wobble more than they should as well. A bit loud when typing fast, but acceptable. The driver software provided by Logitech is inexcusably bad. Crashes too often to make use of the configuration utility. If you actually have the patience to finally customize your mouse buttons and keyboard media keys the software confuses, ignores or forgets many of your selections. Forget about having unique actions tasked to each button for different applications either. Logitech's software can't remember what key was assigned to what application. Tech support had no one to help a Mac user at the time I called. Very disappointed.
Digital camera Review: Decent keyboard - but there's better available for Mac Summary: 3 Stars
This is a pretty nice keyboard/mouse combo for the Macintosh, make no mistake. However, it suffers from some slight problems that make it inferior to another product - one also offered by Logitech!
First, the good - the keyboard looks nice. The white matches most Apple hardware well, and looks classy. It's slim and takes little space, so it won't hog your desktop like some other keyboards do. The mouse is a white-and-silver combo that matches the keyboard and also looks very sharp.
The keyboard itself is responsive, although the keys feel a little "sluggish" and squishy at times. It allows for fast typing, and some of the hotkeys on it are convenient and useful - I found myself using the volume and mute keys frequently, though some of the others didn't get used too often.
I have no good points about the mouse, as I did not use it at all - it's ergonomically designed for right-handed people, and since I'm left-handed, it is painful and uncomfortable to use. In my opinion, an ambidextrous mouse would have been a better inclusion in this set (especially given my suggestion below on a better alternative).
As far as Macintosh-specific keyboards go, this is a nice alternative to the default Apple keyboards, especially if you dislike those keyboards the way I do.
Now for the bad - as I just mentioned, the mouse is right-hand ergonomic. If you use your mice left-handed, this renders it near-useless. I would imagine that right-handed people would be able to use it without issue, and it seems similar to the Logitech MX6xx series, so I would surmise it's a nice, responsive, serviceable mouse.
The worst complaint (and the reason I purchased a new keyboard a month later) is that this keyboard seems to unsynchronize with the transmitter frequently. About once every day or two, the keyboard would begin to go berserk - repeat keystrokes hundreds of times, miss keystrokes, or not even register anything. I had to flip it over and press the connect button to re-synch keyboard and transmitter, and then all was fine for another day. Very annoying, especially when I play online games and write; there's nothing better than dying because the keyboard wonks out, or deleting 19 pages because it repeated your Page Down and decided to hit "Delete" instead of "Insert".
Because of the de-synchronizing issue, I replaced this keyboard fairly quickly. I was hesitant about buying non-Macintosh-specific keyboards, since I was worried whether they would have a key to emulate the Command key, but I found a few options that claimed to be both Windows and Macintosh compatible, and to my delight, one of them is compatible and much nicer than this keyboard set.
For those interested in this product, if you don't mind spending $20 more, please consider the Logitech Wave Keyboard set - the keyboard is more rugged and sturdy, more responsive (no connection losses yet!), and the mouse is both ambidextrous and responds very well despite being wireless. Additionally, it's still by Logitech, so you can depend on their generally-good quality.
The Cordless Desktop Wave Set is available from Amazon here:

If you can't spare the extra $20, or simply don't mind a little frustration typing and having to re-connect, this keyboard/mouse combo should probably serve quite well!
Digital camera Review: Died in seven months Summary: 3 Stars
This keyboard worked flawlessly with my G3 IMac for seven months and then, abruptly, this morning, it died on me. I just ordered another one--can't type on the Mac keyboard's Chiclet keys--but I'm not happy to have to shell out another $65 only seven months after the first buy. Thus the ambivalent rating. The mouse continues to work beautifully.
Digital camera Review: Don't buy this product Summary: 1 Stars
I was looking for a wirelless mouse for my Mac and came across this set. Amazon had the best price so I ordered it, and it arrived very quickly. Unfortunately the USB receiver did not work at all when I got it. My son has a Logitech MX Duo wireless set on his Mac, so I tried this set using his receiver and it worked, but with a great deal of lag. Besides that the mouse and keyboard both felt rather flimsy. I now have a Logitech G5 gaming mouse with the USB Overdrive mouse driver and I love it! It is so much smoother than any other mouse I have tried except an MX518, and it really makes a difference. Unless you really need a keyboard don't waste your time with this set. Get the real thing (Logitech G5/G7) and you will love it too.
