Digital camera reviews of Logitech Cordless Desktop S 530 Laser for Mac ( 967664-0403 )

Digital camera Review: Excellent product
Summary: 5 Stars

The Logitech Cordless Desktop S530 Laser for Mac works flawlessly! With the upload from the vendors website, both the mouse and keyboard synced right up with my Power Book, great price and functionality, sorry to say it beats Apples' design.

Digital camera Review: Excellent product, but with two flaws
Summary: 4 Stars

I am delighted with the mouse, and pleased with the keyboard except for two things. (1) There is no way to look at the keyboard and determine whether the Caps Lock is engaged. I assume that this is to conserve battery power. (2) The keybooard is extraordinarily sensitive to dust and hair, and must be vacuumed a couple of times each week. I have two house cats who love to roost in my lap, and their hair inevitably finds its way onto the keyboard. The original Macintosh keyboard was nowhere nearly this sensitive.

Digital camera Review: Excellent!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have suffered through the last 5 years with the apple keyboard on my Power Mac, so when I bought a new Mac Mini I thought I'd try the Logitech. This keyboard contains all of the features that anyone could want for their MAC. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is the Power Button which I haven't bothered to look for a solution for because I rarely turn my mac off. If you're a Mac user this set should be high on your want list.

Digital camera Review: Fantastic Keyboard for the Everyday User
Summary: 4 Stars

I am a college student and I own a MacBook Pro. I needed two things to help manage my workspace when not in the classroom: a separate monitor for viewing documents side-by-side and a keyboard/mouse combo for working with my notebook closed.

I already own a bluetooth mouse, an Apple mighty mouse, and had no need for a second mouse at home so I had previously counted this keyboard combo out. Eventually I "settled" with this Logitech keyboard because my mighty mouse's scroll ball decided to die on me. To be honest, I loved that mouse but it seems that most mighty mice encounter this problem eventually. Regardless, I bought the mouse along with VMware Fusion and they both arrived two days later.

I also own JBL's aluminum colored speakers and the aforementioned color goes well with the accents on the keyboard and mouse and my MBP.

Functionality of this keyboard could not be more flawless. The keys are well spaced for my medium sized hands; Logitech has beautifully crafted a keyboard that incorporates the comforting depth of full sized keyboard clicks without overdoing it, allowing me to type forever and accurately as if it were a notebook keyboard. The extra Mac-specific buttons surrounding the main keys are not just bonuses. I found that its much easier to adjust volume levels, launch frequently used apps, and navigat web pages, documents, spread sheets, and photo albums with either hand whether it be from the keyboard or the mouse itself.

As to the mouse, I fell in love with it the very first time I used it to raise the volume of my music with a simple click of my index finger. I know that this is not a real evolution in the would of desktop mice but I was used to using a trackpad in conjunction with function keys to get the job done. To be honest, this keyboard/mouse combo has really helped me enjoy working at a desk. I don't like to be tied down to one spot but these two peripherals have really changed my entire perspective.

I recommend this keyboard/mouse set greatly, to anyone. My productivity has increased and I can manage all of my apps with the simplest of ease.

Of note, and the reason I gave this product a 4 out 5 regardless of my glowing review, is because Logitech's driver (the Logitech Control Center) albeit fantastic for meticulously adjusting each button's function is needed for most of the mac specific buttons around the keyboard, does not work with World of Warcraft. While World of Warcraft is running, using the scroll wheel will cause the cursor to jump to the upper left-hand corner of the screen. Plus, it is impossible to map key functions in game while the LCC is installed.

I know, I know, this seems like a completely ridiculous reason to dock the item an entire star. However,I initially enjoyed Logitech's software. In fact, I think a big part of the appeal or not of input devices can be attributed to their proprietary drivers. Many, many people play games; ten million people play WoW. I had to completely uninstall the Logitech Control Center which also helped manage my travel mouse (the VX Nano, another fantastic mouse) so I feel really jipped by Logitech for overlooking a weird glitch with their software.

Otherwise, I'm thrilled with their product. Buy it. Even if you play WoW, it's totally worth it. Get it, use it, make you're life easier and you might actually do you're homework. I know i've thought about it.

Digital camera Review: Favorite wireless keyboard
Summary: 5 Stars

A year ago, I became a Mac user and this was the keyboard provided to me and I love it!! After leaving Corporate and becoming independent contractor for web design, I purchased my own MacBook Pro and didn't hesitate to order this keyboard/mouse at the same time. Makes work very efficient, keys are easy touch. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and that is a big deal, that the keys not be stiff. I highly recommend this to anyone coming from the PC world...the keyboard will be much more familiar to you.
