Digital camera reviews of Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard (Black/Silver)

Digital camera Review: G11 review.
Summary: 5 Stars

I was torn between the Saitek Eclipse 2, Microsoft Reclusa, and the Logitech G11 keyboards. I was unable to locate any of them locally to compare with one another except for the Saitek 2 which I did not like. Its illumination is more like someone removed the bottom of the board and shined a neon up through the keys. It lights up everything and I wanted a board that just had the letters and numbers light up. I went with the Logitech and am very glad I did. It looks great, installed just by plugging it in,and was a good fit colorwise for the rest of my gear. The shape, stroke, sound, feel and spacing of the keys is perfect for me. Had I found one locally it would have been a no questions asked purchase. What I saw as far as the illumination goes, was what looked like a strange pattern of keys that didn't light up. Every site I looked at,not to mention the actual box it comes in makes it appear this way. In reality, the entire board lights up in blue ,straight through the key designations just like I wanted. I just hope it's made as well as it looks lasts a long time.

Digital camera Review: G11 vs New G15 keyboard
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm a serious gaming fool and was dismayed to see the New G15 board had reduced the number of programable keys from 18 to 6 as opposed to the "old" G15 The programable keys are the heart of the board, able to record macros as well as any key action. I am happy again to see that the G11 is the "old" G15, with all 18 keys intact. To me, the New G15 only offers eye candy at the cost of the best advantage the G11 ( and the Old G15) have, the number of keys to program. Apparently Logitech saw the error of it's ways and is keeping the old board alive under a new name. My guess is that the New G15 will fade away and the G11 will live on.

Digital camera Review: Gaming G11... fair
Summary: 2 Stars

The basic functions work well. Programming game keys and the audio control was a feature that I could not get to function. In addition, the keyboard is much bigger than I anticipated... no room for the mouse.
As I never could get the volumn controls or gaming keys to work... I returned the unit.

Digital camera Review: Gaming Keyboard
Summary: 4 Stars

Have just used the new keyboard a short time, but it is operating very well. The typing touch is good and the key alignment is good.

The backlighting of the keys could be brighter which would make the keys standout better. Perhaps a white light would be better than the blue light as it would be more like a standard key.

Digital camera Review: Good backlit keyboard for the price
Summary: 5 Stars

This keyboard is a good bang for your buck - backlit in a beautiful blue hue, large and very comfortable, and overall awesome looking. Makes my desk look like a command center, very cool. I have owned keyboards with better touch response from the keys (HP wireless and Apple wired), but for the price it's a great buy. If you have large hands like me, this is one of the best keyboards out there for you.

The programmable keys are a bonus, although I'm not much of a gamer, and seldom use them. Software that comes with it is pretty bad, though, it stopped working on my Windows 7 one day and I was too lazy to reinstall it. Was able to make the programmable keys work in Linux, albeit after a lot of tweaking.
