Digital camera reviews of Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard (Black)

Digital camera Review: Buyer beware
Summary: 2 Stars

I am disappointed in Logitech after using this keyboard. I have the older G15. While the keyboard itself has great functionality (if a little overkill for most gamers), beware - while Logitech offers a 3-5 year warranty on ALL of its other keyboards, it only gives a one-year warranty to its two most expensive offerings, the G11 and G15. I found this out the hard way after my keys started acting funny. Out of the blue one day a couple of keys started randomly typing out incorrect or extra characters (for instance, when I hit the X key I get X: on my screen, I have to delete the colon), and my left shift key somehow got mapped to F9 so that any time I would try to run in a FPS it would reload a savegame. This is pretty much a deal-breaker for any gamer.

I take very good care of my hardware so I was quite surprised, tried the keyboard on another computer without any Logitech software installed and it did the same thing, indicating a hardware problem with the board. A search of Logitech's forums found that several people have had this problem, and it seems there is no fix but to send in for warranty replacement - if you're still in the warranty period. Although ultimately I only have myself to blame for not paying close enough attention to the warranty terms, after paying $85 for a keyboard I expect better than a one-year warranty, especially when their $20 keyboards go for 3-5 years. The fact that Logitech chose to offer a shorter warranty on this product is, to me, an indication that they were aware of quality issues and opted to act in their own interest by offering a shorter warranty instead of taking care of their most lucrative customers. That's just bad business. While almost all of my PC hardware is Logitech and I am happy with the quality of most of their products, I am extremely disappointed in them after this experience. I now have an $85 paperweight because I can't even use it to type accurately. The long-term life of these keyboards seems suspect, and I have a feeling that's why they suddenly introduced a newer model.

Digital camera Review: By Day, Write Essays in a Second Language. By Night, GAME!
Summary: 4 Stars

The Logitech G15 keyboard is Fantastic! There are plenty of people who wrote highly detailed reviews on this. I'll give my own opinion.

The G keys are mostly targeted towards MMORPG players, but they are an awesome addition, worthy enough of any keyboard! Say your taking a second language course, or your bilingual. In Windows, what do you do to type special characters? ALT + a four digit number on the numpad. While there is software out there that can change that, the G-keys are a wounder full alternative! I could just create a macro (basically telling the computer what to do when you press the G-key), press G2 and "Ä" presto! A capitol "a" with an umlaut! I could also do "ß" "" "£" "°" and any conceivable European character! I don't know why other keyboards don't have this use full feature.

Now, for the BAD news.

The M1, M2, and M3 keys are poorly designed. Other reviewers could tell you what they do better than I can, but whenever I press one of them, they get stuck, and I'll have to grab a sharp object and force it back up.

Overall, its a worthy buy. If I wasn't so hooked on the LED screen, I'd buy the G110 for more G-keys!

Digital camera Review: COOL
Summary: 5 Stars

Cool Looking keyboard. Honestly made of quality. I am very brand loyal to Logitech, and will continue to purchase their products. Im done with Microsoft(cheap).

Digital camera Review: Change for the worse?
Summary: 3 Stars

I keep coming across this product version as I shop for gamepads and mice. I keep looking at it and thinking, "What the heck did they do?" so I thought I better say something. For me and my WoW gaming the best thing about the OLDER version was the three columns of programmable keys along the left hand side. I didn't think they were enough but now they've cut them back to one column? What the heck?!

The flashy window feature I've always found more gimmicky than useful. The one place I kind of like it is while playing WoW and talking on Vent, it lets you see who is actually talking. But other than that, its just a bell and whistle, eye candy kind of thing.

Digital camera Review: Complement your Monster-Machine
Summary: 5 Stars

...because it definitely complements mine! It's nice to know that at a push of a button, you can see game stats, your GPU temperature, Framerate, and Computer Performance!

I was originally using a 2nd monitor to do that using EVGA Precision and Windows Sidebar, but this keyboard and it's LCD display made that redundant (plus I save more power with one less monitor and my GFX card not jumping to full clocking speeds all the time!)

Mainly bought it for the LCD feature, some of the buttons I don't even use but I still love it to pieces! A must have for all you gamer-nerds out there!
