Digital camera reviews of Logitech G25 Racing Wheel

Digital camera Review: A great step forward
Summary: 5 Stars

Having used the Logitech Driving Force for a number of years, the new G25 is a great step forward in driving realism. The G25 keeps the precise steering of its predecessors, as well as adding a bit more steering resistance. This helps in giving a precise feel as to when the wheel is centered.

The clutch and 6-speed H-shifter is what I've been looking in steering wheels for years. The three pedals each have different levels of resistance. The shifter is a bit light in the shifts, though, but it does get the job done. My only other wish is that the steering wheel could have more buttons, so I wouldn't have to reach over to the shifter console as much. That aside, this is a great set and worth the price, if you're looking for a touch more realism than the average steering wheel.

Digital camera Review: A little pricey for what you get.
Summary: 4 Stars

First of all, if you want a racing wheel, this is hands down the one to get. The only problem I have with it is that the price was too steep for what I actually got. Amazon's description made this wheel seem slightly better than it is. The force feedback is not as strong as I expected. The gearbox has no resistance when you shift. The pedals seem a little too close together. The wheel itself could be a little bigger but I can see why it's not so as to save space on your desktop. I use mine with my PS3 and every time you turn the system on or off, the wheel starts spinning to calibrate itself. This also happens whenever you start a game. It scared me at first and now just seems really annoying but can be solved by just unplugging the USB chord when not in use. These are all minor problems that most will probably overlook. It's worth buying but I'd try to find the best deal you can on it, don't pay over $240.

Digital camera Review: AMAZING
Summary: 5 Stars

this was my first steering wheel ever, i could've just got anything with gas and a brake, but I am into racing, and i wanted the 6 speed and the clutch and all that fancy stuff. I didn't even think the G25 would be that good, it's simply amazing, it wasn't even expensive for what it does. the feedback force is simply as realistic as it gets, I can simply say amazing all day and it would'nt be enough, 5 stars. if you have a racing game, dont be silly playing with the keyboard like i did, i didn't know the real fun of racing games untill i got hold of the g25. worth every penny. the only thing, i think you should watch for is that if you dont have a place to hook it, it could be tricky, and no fun. so make sure you have a good spot for it and you're all set for an amazing experience. Cause it ain't racing untill you get the G25 steering wheel.

Digital camera Review: Addictive...
Summary: 5 Stars

Powerful force feedback. Wonderful product. Solid quality.

Highly recommend this wheel with SIMs like rFactor, GTR2 and RBR
(Richard Burns Rally), though personally my best experience is
with XPand Rally Extreme which somehow manages to really convey
the track quality via vibrations in the wheel...

Default support in games not always present (but can always be
customized). It's 5 Axis (which basically means that you can
press the break and the accelerator AT THE SAME TIME, something
that works really well in rally simulation games). I could use
more buttons on the steering wheel (though shift stick console
has plenty).

Wheel fits table fine, but shift stick console makes less sense when
attached to the the table so I've installed it on a small side table
for added reality.

Shifting gears does *not* require clutch to be pressed (i.e. there
is no interaction). H-pattern shifting is too 'light' for real-world
feeling.

Software that accompanies the wheel is sub-par. Someone could have
spent a little more time on getting the settings for popular games
together.

Problem: Cables are TOO SHORT.
The cable from the pedals is simply not long enough to reach from the
wheel, back down over the table, to the pedals. This may not be a
problem for the average desk, but it is on my dinner table, and is
highly annoying (forces you to direct all cables towards you, running
the risk of tearing one in the heat of the moment.

Digital camera Review: Adds a great effect
Summary: 5 Stars

This wheel is amazing. I got this to complete my racing setup. I like GT4 so I ran this wheel to my PS2 and attached it to an EVO playseat. I added a Butt Kicker to the rig and what a difference. I have this all hooked up to a surround system and showing on a 42" LCD. This combo puts you so into the race it is like you are truly there. The wheel bolts to the seat so it does not move! The controls are great. The seat does not have an attachment for the shifter so you will have to come up with some other way to use it if you want to shift with it instead of the paddle shifters. All in all the feed back is amazing and it feels so real you find yourself leaning and flinching as you play. It cost a few $$ but it was well worth it to finish off a great play system.
