Digital camera reviews of Logitech G25 Racing Wheel

Digital camera Review: G25-best in its class
Summary: 5 Stars

The G25 is my very first video game wheel and I have been playing driving gameS for many years. Needless to say the transition was uneasy. After a few minutes of using it, I was ready to return it and never have another steering wheel but I gave it a chance and it was well worth it. Once you get used to it, it is very nice with many features that other wheels don't have. First and foremost the clutch, really puts you in the driver seat. You can definitely stall the car if you're not good at it. So if it is your case and you're not so attracted to this feature then go for the DFGT or other wheel with just brake and accelerator. The option of switching between H-shift or inline is neat and you can also use paddle shifting for F1 cars and newer japanese cars. This option allows you to shift through all the gears, 7/8 for some cars, which is a remedy to the only 5 speeds/reverse with the H-shifter. The pedals are very nice, sturdy and solid, made out of steel, no plastic in here!!!. The steering wheel has a good size, also made out of steel and is wrapped in leather all-around. Equipped with all the buttons you need for PS2 or PS3. It has attaching clips on the steering wheel and shifter, which is also wrapped in leather.
Overall, excellent quality, really nice finish and really does its jobs. Prepare for sore arms and shoulders if you use the force feedback option, which goes from 1 to 5. It auto calibrates when you turn on your game system and when you start a game. Compatible with many driving games for PS2 and PS3. Would recommend an evolution playseat or Obutto to complement it. No complaints and definitely no regrets.
ONCE YOU GO LOGITECH, YOU WILL OVERTAKE.....

Digital camera Review: GOT EVERYTHING YOU COULD WANT
Summary: 5 Stars

Another fine Logitech product! Great price; great product. Force feedback is very realistic. Shift gears with a real shift selector! The gas and brake pedals add to the realistic driving experience. With six on-wheel selection buttons and a paddle shift selector on the left and right side of the steering wheel, you can customize it to just about any configuration. I highly recommend it - but shop around for prices!

Digital camera Review: GREAT WHEEL!
Summary: 5 Stars

The best wheel you will ever find, I have used all wheels that are and were on sale in the past 5 years, and this one is incredible, you'll feel like you are in a real race car.

Digital camera Review: Good Driving Wheel
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this wheel to play the PS3 Formula 1 racing game. This wheel improves on the overall sense of realistic driving but it does have at least one shortcoming. When entering the pit, I've yet to figure out what buttons on the wheel correspond to the R1,R2,L1 and L2 buttons on the controller. And nowhere either in the game or in the Logitech instructions do you get an explanation. When entering the pit, an automatic sequence starts whereby the x, o, square, triangle and L1,L2,R1 and R2 buttons flash on screen. You must quick press these buttons as they appear on screen. This driving wheel does not have the R1,R2,L1 and L2 buttons on it. Therefore, you can't quick press those buttons when they flash on screen and thus pit times suffer.

I was very impressed with the construction of all three of the components of this ensemble. The wheel feels good with the leather covering. The pedals are a combination of heavy plastic and metal all attached to a heavy base and the separate shifter seems to be ok yet I have not used it as of yet. However, I did encountered a problem right out of the box with the shifter component. It has 2 settings displayed as an up/down arrow on the left and a shift pattern on the right, switchable with a center turnable knob. Again, nowhere in the instructions does it tell you how to switch between settings. Only through trial and error was I able to figure it out.

It's also console and PC friendly - a plus. I tried it with GTR2 for the PC and it performed flawlessly. Its a bit costly, but it is worth it. If Logitech improves on the instructions I would give this wheel ensemble 5-stars.

Digital camera Review: Good While it lasted
Summary: 3 Stars

Well I bought the G25 six weeks ago and things went pretty well. The installation was easy, The wheel has plenty of features and the only problem I had was that my desk has a rounded top edge and this caused the wheel and the shifter to not clamp well enough to keep from rocking. The clamps on my old MOMO reached further back and didn't have this problem. But the wheel worked fine for about six weeks. Then I noticed that the center location of the wheel was drifting left or right while racing with the wheel. It would be centered at the start of a race, but would be 90 deg off by the end of 1.5 hours of racing. Annoying, but not desastrous. Now the wheel no longer works at all. The pedals and buttons all work fine, but the wheel outputs NO SIGNAL to the game at all. I have racer friends who have the wheel and have not experienced any problems of this nature. I tried removing and reinstalling the software, but this did not help the problem. I had to get my "Old" MOMO from the attic in order to race. I will have Logitech replace the wheel and hope it was just a problem with this particular wheel.
