Digital camera reviews of Logitech G9 Laser MouseDigital camera Review: Best mouse ever Summary: 5 Stars
This is the most amazing mouse I've ever used. I've always thought a mouse was just a tool to point and click. This one is totally different.
One of the things I like most is that you can create different profiles based on different programs, and in each profile the buttons do different things. I've got one profile for when I'm surfing, where the buttons can switch forward and backward through tabs, refresh, and go back a screen. I've got a different profile for each game I play. The best part is that every time I open a new program I think of something the mouse could do to make my life easier. After that it's a simple process to createdand customize a new profile.
If you like a bigger mouse, you can change the shell to the big-hand grip. If you like a smaller mouse, there's a grip for that too. I haven't used the weights that came with it, but I might try experimenting with them a little bit.
Digital camera Review: Best mouse ever! Summary: 5 Stars
And I mean that literally as this is possibly the best mouse I have ever owned! My last mouse was the logitech mx518 and not to say anything bad about that mouse (since I've used it for over 2 years) but it does not hold anything to the G9 mouse. First of all, this is one of the first mouse to include weights, 4 4g and 4 7g weights. This is particularly important since this mouse has a high DPI rating (3200 DPI), with the extra weight you won't have to move around the mouse a lot to make precise clicks. For those who do not know what DPI is (it's used to measure the dots on your screen), pretty much the higher the DPI the faster your mouse is. You will not need to use the 3200 DPI setting as it is way too high for any monitor out there, recommended DPI setting is either 2000 (for 17-23 inch monitors) to 2400-2800 DPI (for 25-30 inch monitors). The mouse comes with another grip, which is made for those who sweat a lot during game sessions and that you won't lose grip of your mouse. There is no software included, and the only way to configure the mouse is to download it at the logitech website. The mouse feels comfortable and gaming is fun with this mouse. I will not recommend this mouse as an everyday mouse since you can find cheaper mouses (unless your the type that must get the latest technology). This mouse is recommended to those who are in need of a better mouse for gaming. My only gripe is that the horizontal scroll takes a bit getting used to but that's about it. One of the best mouse I have ever used.
Note: As you can tell by the picture this is a corded mouse and not wireless.

ORIGINAL REVIEW AUGUST 28TH, 2008
Never in my life have I found such a fast accurate mouse, where so much thought went into the design process. In fact, this is not for all practical purposes a single mouse, but you could at least consider it two different mice. Why? Well, it has two grips, which have two totaly different feels. Combine that with a totally customizable unique weight balance system, and you have quite a few combinations of custom mice right out of the box. You will probably settle on just one or two, but never have the choices been so plentiful.
Everything you get with this mouse is top notch, but you might expect that if you are willing to shell out this much for just a mouse. Sure, it might be the best mouse you've ever used. Sure, the feet glide, and the weight and grip combos are fancy, and the wheel can spin freely or spin in clicked steps, and macros and lights are customizable, but the real question is: is it worth the price?
Well, that is something you have to decide on your own.
Even if you are overpaying a bit, in my opinion, they have packaged it so well, and the performace is so great that it all seems like a good deal when all is said and done.
It's better than your old mouse. Probably better than your friend's mouse. You ought to give it a try.
NEW ADDITION 11/17/2008
This stupid mouse broke! At first, while playing Fallout 3 I thought, perhaps my character's agility is affecting how fast I can pull the trigger, and then suddenly, I realized, the left click button isn't working. Sometimes it would work, and sometimes not, and sometimes only when you pushed really hard at the very end of the button, and not where I normally pressed it at the end near the top of the mouse. This is SOOOOO frustrating paying such a whopping price for a really cool mouse which wore out after a few months with some fairly light gameplay.
You might think, this guy broke it by pressing too hard. Pretty unlikely since I am NOT a hardcore gamer, and really have used it mainly for video editing. And, even if I did break it, imagine someone who plays FPS's every night and I would have a hard time imagining how anyone could AVOID breaking it.
This may look nice, and it has great packaging and consumer appeal, but in the end, it is a cheap piece of crap.

In fairness to Logitech, they have a great return department. The warranty on my mouse covered a replacement, and I didn't even have to return the original. It makes you feel a little better to know that there is a reason you pay so much money for a mouse. It has a good warranty, and even if you might need to use it, you are at least getting your moneys worth.
Digital camera Review: Built for Gaming!!! Summary: 5 Stars
First off this mouse is great as it feels so comfy in the palm of your hand. The buttons are large so you don't have to find the "sweet spot" to click when in a firefight playing a FPS game. I game hard and usually kill the left button on any mouse I use.
I had a few cheap generic mice before getting this bad boy and all I can say is waw......the sensitivity is ridiculous to the point where I had to adjust it down a bit. This was such a breeze as the program that it comes with is pretty straight forward. It took me less that 2 mins to set this up and I even changed the colour of the led lights on the mouse (pretty cool feature by the way).
The material that coats the mouse make it a joy to use. It doesn't get sweaty or greasy and my fingers are always at home on it.
The larger than normal scroll wheel is a God send as I have large long fingers. Almost threw my old cheap mouse outside many times due to the crappy scroll wheel.
This mouse is a nobrainer for anyone looking for something different, functional (be it gaming or general use) and most importantly you have options as to the interchanging grips and the dpi settings.
Best mouse I've ever owned.....period
Digital camera Review: DAmn good Summary: 5 Stars
Great mouse. nuff said.
more detail: extremely accurate, you can adjust mouse speed with a click of a button, which is great for multiple gamers using the same computer or for individuals that play different games and need different mouse speeds for different applications. Even for professionals I find this very useful, say for photoshop users that may need more control at times. The cable is super tough and I've been taking my mouse from home to school to work and back almost daily and have had no issues for roughly 2 years. Love the weight adjustment feature, it's simply a cool feature and the fact that you can adjust the size of the mouse is also fantastic. It adds individuality but it's also practical as I want a smoother mouse during the winter but sometimes opt for the rougher texture during the summer when my hand gets sweaty.
if you are looking for a mouse that will last you and will stay accurate for many years to come then look no further.
