I read all the reviews on this item and paid alot of attention to the bad reviews. No need to do that this product is incredible. Hook it up to your computer (Windows Vista)Compatible. You wanna make sure you have your model #'s and makes of product to hook up. You type it in the program it runs quick, asks how you wanna use your equipment, and where its all plugged into your television, and litterally within minutes its set up. In the begining it didnt turn on the tv but it gives you a menu question on the remote lcd if its working correctly, and if not hit help I did that and problem solved automatically. It must run through codes in the remote or something. You hit one button and it turns on all devices to the right settings and correct components for the activity you want. Blam! Very Impressive!! Amazing Technology. List of my Hook ups. Samsung TV HL-T5087s, Yamaha AV Reciever RX-V363, Xbox 360 (For Gaming and watcing DVD's) And Directv HD DVR HR-20. I always wanted to try any of these harmony remotes. after reading so many reviews online especially on the 550 I was not sure if it was worthy to buy it or not. Reviewers complain it doesn't control this, it doesn't control that, keys are small, etc. I decided to give it a shot keeping in mind it will probably not control one or two out of my 8 devices I have in my entertainment center. Guess what?
Why did I wait so long to get this beauty, IT IS WONDERFULL, I put all my remote controls away, this one does all the job. It works with each one of my devices, very easy to use and my coffee table has nothing but one remote THE HARMONY 550. it will only take you 15 to 20 min. to set it up on your computer depending on how many devices you want to add to this beauty. And the price WOW!! it's a give away. GET ONE NOW, you will not regret.

Got a great deal from Dagco/Amazon.com and arrived in 2 days! Took about 20 minutes to set up. It works PERFECTLY & looks GREAT! PLUS it's ergonomically comfortable to use and light - did I mention it looks GREAT?! The software does all programming work LITERALLY. Now instead of 6 remotes on my coffee table It's just the great looking 550. I couldn't justify spending $150+ for a remote even after spending thousands on my system but for under $100 YOU CAN'T BEAT IT! To be honest it was the appearance of the 550 that initially sold me. The Macro Programming via the Activities Button controls every component flawlessly and in sequence - you just have to keep it pointed at your components. Any misstep that may occur is EASILY resolved by going directly thru the DEVICE button. I'm very particular with my toys and noticed that all the buttons I use on ALL the regular remotes are featured on the 550 for EVERY component. So, instead of manipulating several remotes I easily navigate all my components with this ONE. The ULTIMATE finishing touch for my higher end system.Digital camera Review: About as good as it gets

I just received this remote today and had it set up and completely working in about 30 min. First thing to do is make sure the remote is compatible with your equipment prior to ordering by visiting the logitech / harmony website, it is very easy to navigate and find out if you are covered.
The remote itself is a breeze to set up. Make sure you know what the model number and make of all your equipment is and what input they are connected to on your TV. The program will walk you through the rest. and once you test it on your components the remote will help you with issues that come up with a simple to navigate help menu on the remote itself.
I can't say enough good things about this remote. It works perfectly with my system:
Samsung LN40A550P HDTV, Sony all in one home theatre DAV-DX255, and a Scientific Atlanta HD-DVR.
Do yourself a favor and get rid of all those remotes and have this one sleek remote do it all for you.
