I purchased this to replace a universal remote that couldn't control a cheap Daewoo TV in the bedroom. I will say that you do have to get used to the way the Harmony remotes do things, but once you do it's a cake walk. I now use this remote in the living room, it has replaced 6 other remotes. The Harmony database is incredible, I have yet to not find what I was looking for. The software is very outdated as others have previously stated, but it does work with Windows7. I control a Samsung 50" HDTV, Onkyo AVR,Roku set top box for netflix,Philips HTIB I use for DVD,s, DirecTV DVR and my HTPC as well. The unit I got was a factory refurbished one, but it's the best $39 that I have spent. If I could get another at that price, it would be on order. I spent a lot of time on their website trying to set it up. Even after it's set up, trying to synchronize multiple actions to one button push is dicey, and work- around when everything doesn't work as expected requires knowlege and work. The main problem is getting your TV set to the proper input every time.
I found I couldn't just hand it to someone & have it work, and family members soon decided it was easier to use multiple remotes than learn to deal with it.
So I rated it fair. It will learn commands of many remotes. It won't simplify your tasks. So I only rated it fair.

I purchased this remote as a refurb model, but it looks brand new. I couldn't find any marks on it. It works perfectly. Setup was easy after I found my model #'s, but it took some use to find some buttons I wanted to add. And that was easy too. Just plug it into the computer, run the program, and it has easy to follow instructions. It's amazing what you can program this remote to do.
So here's the few negative things: it doesn't always turn off everything that was on (the TV has stayed on 2 or 3 times after hitting the master OFF button), to switch between devices on the menu can be annoying- I have to switch to my AV receiver to turn on surround sound sometimes while watching a movie, then have to switch back to DVD player to control it, then back to control volume. But if you have it programmed to turn on your surround sound for a movie all the time, then it shouldn't be a problem (and it asks this during setup- which devices to turn on to watch a movie, and which device controls sound).
My wife has trouble with it sometimes, but I think it's because she doesn't leave the remote pointed toward the entertainment center after pushing a button. It controls several devices and may take a second to send all the signals. She may push a button and toss it in the couch cushions. It's IR signal only, so it works best when pointed at the device (and works really well).
Overall, it was a great investment for the price. I couldn't imagine spending so much on a remote, then I found this item, and IT'S AWESOME!

I had been eyeing the Harmony One and some lesser (Harmony) models for months. So it was a Mr Burns-esque moment of hand rubbing (and a mutter of "Excellent...") when I spotted this older model in a non-descript refurb box at a local Fry's for...wait for it.....TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS!!! (It was ancient and the 2 AAA batteries were corroded.) But with the most recent software from the Logitech website, it works as good as they say. I DID need to call tech support on a Saturday (you get 90 days free tech support from the time of registration) and the hold time was about 30 minutes. As I was tinkering the whole time, just as they picked up, I was able to solve the problem myself. All the same, they were very courteous. I still feel like that lady in the Ikea commercial: "Start the car!.....Wooooh!!!..." A steal for sure.
