Digital camera reviews of Logitech Harmony 670 Universal Remote

Digital camera Review: Absolutely amazing and easy remote!
Summary: 5 Stars

We have over 5 different components, each of which came with their own remotes. This product is incredibly easy to set up and allowed us to streamline our pile of remotes down to one. It's excellent and I highly recommend it.

Digital camera Review: Actually does what it says it does
Summary: 4 Stars

I've been bothered by having 4 remotes around just to work my setup of TV, Cable box with DVR, DVD player, and home theater. I've tried universal remotes in the past and they've always let me down by either not supporting one of my devices, or not supporting every button I need.
The list of supported devices/brands is surprising, and you can customize buttons - change the behavior of buttons or add your own to the LCD screen.
You can even make different buttons for different activities (when you're watching a DVD you have certain custom buttons, when watching TV, different ones)

My only complaint about the product is the software used to set it up. You have to go through a "wizard" to do anything. In one or two instances, the wizard made me make changes that I didn't want to, in order to modify one particular setting. It's very easy to use, but if you're more advanced it can be frustrating.
this dropped it from 5 stars to 4.

Digital camera Review: Almost Perfect
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had my harmony for about a year. I feel like this model is the perfect fit for my husband and me. We only wanted to control our somewhat complicated tv/sound/video game setup. We have a television, tivo, audio receiver, wii, and ps3 all hooked up together. We didn't need to control our whole house, but we did need to coordinate several devices together.

I love how much control I can exert over each device and over each action needed. The software took a little getting used to in order for me to expertly time all the commands so they would work perfectly. But now, I can easily change options if something in our setup changes.

The biggest complaint I have about this particular model is that the pain on the remote rubs off very easily. This doesn't, of course, affect the performance of the remote, but it does make a pretty expensive remote look cheap pretty quickly.

I would say however that, I am willing to put up with the cosmetic defect to get its incredible function.

Digital camera Review: Almost Perfect
Summary: 4 Stars

I thought I would share my opinion on this nifty remote so buyers know what they are getting into. Having had "universal remotes" in the future, I was skeptical since I inevitably had to dig up one of the several remotes I had to change or undjust some functions, but not with this.

Out of the box, you will spend at least an hour connecting it to the USB, getting model numbers and configuring it, but it does do what it promises (almost) and has a nifty help interface to assist you when things get a bit off. If you are not comfotable configuring things through a computer, look elsewhere. But the software was pretty good. I was able to get my TV, DVR, DISH, Receiver, DVD, PS2 and PC stereo (including iTunes) to all run from ONE remote, which was a MAJOR accomplishment. The only thing I could not configure was the remote control ceiling fan (yeah, I know, but I am REALLY not that much of a potato).

Great product and almost perfect...now we will see how I like it in a few months..

Digital camera Review: Almost Perfect
Summary: 5 Stars

I was looking for a remote that would make it easy for everyone in the family to use the Entertainment system, and this remote is almost perfect.

I was easy to set-up using the computer interface. It sets it up very intelligently, for example it turns on the TV, then turns on the other systems (cable box, reciever) before switching the TV to the right input, giving it a chance to come up.

The only thing I feel is missing is the ability to program a macro (other than the system macros).
