Digital camera reviews of Logitech Harmony 880 Advanced Universal Remote ControlDigital camera Review: !!!!GREAT 5 REMOTE REPLACEMENT!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I HAVE OWNED THIS REMOTE FOR @ 3 MONTHS AND HAVE PROGRAMMED IT ONLY ONCE IT IS SUPER USER FRIENDLY, I NEVER HAVE OWNED A UNIVERSAL REMOTE B4 BUT AFTER MUCH HOMEWORK AND READING THE REVIEWS, I MADE THIS REMOTE THE FINAL CHOICE FOR MY HOME SYSTEM. IT REPLACED ALL 5 REMOTES THAT I HAD SCATTERED IN THE LIVING ROOM. NOW IT IS NICELY DOCKED IN PLAIN VIEW. IF U ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FUNCTIONAL AND HAS NICE STYLE THIS IS THE ONE FOR YOU. THE REMOTE EVEN FULLY CONTROLS MY CHEAP FLOOR FAN, NOW THATS TECHNOLOGY!!
FORGET THE REVIEWS SAYING THAT THE BUTTONS ARE TOO SMALL AND FRAGILE, I HAVE BIG HANDS AND HAVE NO PROB. FRAGILITY ISNT THE CASE EITHER IVE DROPPED IT NUMEROUS AMOUNTS OF TIMES AND ITS STILL INTACT (VERY RIGID).
ALSO MY WIFE ISNT VERY TECH SAVVY AND HAS ZERO PROBLEMS NAVIGATING THIS REMOTE.
Digital camera Review: "Easy to Use" is More than Easy to Say Summary: 5 Stars
The Logitech Harmony's best feature is that I handed it to my wife and it worked for the first time out. No other remote, and especially no combination of remotes, has that feature and it's one that, as Tech Support guy in my house, I just love. The thing is also easy to set up and easy to customize. Good show, Logitech!!
Digital camera Review: "One remote to control them ALL"... Summary: 5 Stars
One remote to control them all! No, it was not a line from "Lord Of The Rings," it was something someone at RainyDayMagazine exclaimed when they saw the Logitech Harmony 880 Advanced Universal Remote.
We thought if we bought all the gear from one company, we could cut down on the number of remotes we needed. This was true to some extent but there were always one or two functions that were unique to each remote (aspect ratio, DVD slot select, info guide, etc...).
That was true until we got the Logitech Harmony880! Go here to check out the complete RainyDayMagazine FirstLook review:

Digital camera Review: "User Friendly" isn't always user friendly Summary: 4 Stars
Great remote, does evertying I hoped and dreamed. The only downside was the set-up. Logitech went to great lenths to make the set up as simple as possible - unfortunatly that made the fine tuning of the remote a long process navigating a large number of learning steps. In the end I am very happy with the product and would suggest it to anyone - just put aside some time to get it to work exactly how you wish.
Digital camera Review: 'Universal remotes' are very frustrating. This one is different. Summary: 5 Stars
Let me say first off that Im very happy with the remote. Im a home theater guy that has had a number of 'universal remotes' and I have never been happy with any of them. They have always required multiple keystrokes to get things done, and sometimes are so complicated to program that you just wind up giving up. I have had my eye on the Harmony remotes for years and I cant believe its taken me this long to get one.
I dont have any of the problems with the base-unit charger that some people here have complained about. I dunno if that was a manufacturing problem that has been corrected or not, but I can practically throw the thing into the charger and it fits fine and charges perfectly. I dont have to monkey with it at all.
The online interface used to program the remote is pretty intuitive and well laid-out to me. There are a couple of things that I would have personally done different but they arent deal breakers at all.
I think its a great deal considering the function and flexibility that it has. There are remotes much more expensive than this that are no more functional and quite honestly less user friendly.
With the ocean of different electronic components out there, its reasonable to assume that there may be some tweaking to do with any device designed to work with so many of them. (The online library of remote drivers is ginormous!)
There are some problems you may run into but there are forums online where you can get help.
