Digital camera reviews of Logitech Harmony RF Wireless ExtenderDigital camera Review: Was not needed Summary: 1 Stars
Based on my research for the Logitech Harmony 890 remote, I thought I needed the extender. That is not the case. The extender comes with the remote. The return process was a nightmare, because of Amazon's third party retailers. Beware when purchasing throught the third party retailers, the rules of return and customer satisfaction change! EVENTUALLY, Amazon resolved all issues, but it didn't happen in their normally easy manner.
Digital camera Review: Watch PS3 movies with a regular remote! Summary: 5 Stars
Bought this to go with my Harmony 650 remote (also receently reviewed) and it works as advertised. No more using a game controller to watch DVDs!
Digital camera Review: Worked as advertised Summary: 5 Stars
I set the extender up with my harmony remote and it worked as advertised. The only hint I didn't catch on the first setup is that you can specify with the remote which of the 4 ports shoot the IR signal out (or set to shoot on all). The first time I set it up I did not specify and it did not work. This was user error because I'm not a big reader of manuals. A quick peek in to the instructions and I caught this and it worked perfect.
For anyone who is looking to hide their equipment and also not have to deal with pointing the remote at the devices this works great with the compatible harmony remotes.

Since my stereo/TV cabinet is on the side of the room, aiming an IR remote is tricky. I purchased this device so I didn't have to "aim" the remote. It works as advertised and allows you to plug in the cables between this device and the IR sensors that you place on devices you wish to control.
About the wires...they are fairly ugly looking (unless you hide them) and it also requires you to figure out where the IR sensor is on each device (since you need to put the end of the wire overtop the device's IR sensor). Since the location of the IR sensor is often poorly documented, some degree of documentation is needed. This is not the fault of this device though.
Recommended...though giving some thought to placing the wires (so they are not ugly looking) is necessary.
Digital camera Review: Works as advertised! Summary: 5 Stars
In one of our rooms the non-TV components are off to one side, and the TV is up high on another side so that we can watch it while reclining. With the Wireless Extender there is no need to point our Harmony 1000 at our devices. The only minor issue was that It wasn't always clear where the IR window was on our devices, and so it took a little experimentation.
